As Israel's Operation Cast Lead against Hamas in Gaza entered its sixth day, the Israeli Air Force bombed a mosque in the village of Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Holfe Mosque was used as a launching ground for rockets, a meeting place for Hamas terrorists and a staging ground for terror attacks, as well as a communications center.
The mosque was used as a storage site for a large amount of Grad missiles, Kassam rockets and additional weaponry.
According to the IDF, the strike set off a lengthy series of secondary explosions and a large fire, caused by the ammunitions stockpiled in the mosque.
Palestinians reported that the IAF carried out five strikes just before midnight Thrusday, Israel Radio reported.
Meanwhile Ismail Radwan, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, called on Hamas's armed wing to harm "Zionist interests" everywhere, Israel Radio reported Thursday overnight.
In an earlier attack in Jabalya, the IAF killed Nizar Rayyan, a Hamas military commander who was a sworn enemy of both Israel and the Palestinian Authority under Mahmoud Abbas.
The strike that liquidated Rayyan wiped out nearly his entire family. Among the 15 people who were killed in the Jabalya house, all four of his wives were killed along with eleven of his dozen children.
His one surviving son told the Al Jazeera network that the children were aged 1-16. He said he was not expecting the air force to be targeting his father.
Using religious institutions as a "launching ground" for attacks is a war crime.

Sadly , this is probably the solution for the complete elimination of radical Islam , uproot the evil seed wherever
it is planted , and suffer too the generations thereof .
I wish Sean Penn, Michael Moore were standing in front of that mosque acting as human shields daring Israel to attack it.

If a mosque is used to store weapons, after the first strike is complete and secondary explosions are noted, a second strike should be made consisting of 2-4 2000 lb guided bombs all released so as to hit nearly simultaneously on the same mosque. This should happen within about 30 seconds after the first strike. That should nearly obliterate the mosque and it can be chalked up to secondaries from the ammo stockpiled in the basement.
