QUOTE OF THE YEAR
Presidential Message for New Year's Day, 2008
10:35 A.M. CST
THE PRESIDENT: Laura and I wish our fellow Americans a happy and healthy 2008. I particularly want to say something to our troops and their families: This country respects you, we admire you and we wish you a great 2008, as well.
We've just come off the ranch; had a good rest and good New Year's with some friends. And I'm looking forward to getting back to Washington to work on policies to keep this country safe and to keep this country prosperous.
I just wanted to stop by and wish everybody a happy 2008. Thank you.
MRS. BUSH: Happy New Year, everybody.
FIRST PHOTO OF THE YEAR
President Bush, and first lady Laura Bush walk across the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, following their arrival on Marine One helicopter.
First in 2009!
And it is, as Mrs. Bush said, bittersweet to see them go. It is hard to believe that by the end of this month they will be gone. But may God bless their time together in the future and whatever they have in store for them in the years to come. However, I am sure that they will enjoy being away from the critical spotlight.
Happy New Year, snugs.
Thank you Snugs, this collection is wonderful! Happy New Year,

Happy New Year!
There is something creepy and discouraging about “conservatives” getting excited over images of state power. Heaven help us. And this seems to be a daily ritual on this site.
Happy New Year, snugs!!
