Judge: 2 adoptive dads belong on birth certificate

NEW ORLEANS -- A same-sex couple in California has won a federal court ruling that their adopted son's Louisiana birth certificate must bear the names of both adoptive fathers.

The facts are so clear that no trial is needed, U.S. District Judge Jay Zainey wrote.

"What a great Christmas present for these guys!" said Kenneth D. Upton Jr. who represented Oren Adar and Mickey Ray Smith of San Diego.

In his ruling Monday, Zainey said Louisiana's Office of Vital Records must give full faith and credit to the New York State court in which Adar and Smith adopted the boy, he ruled Monday. The office had refused to issue a birth certificate listing both as the boy's legal parents.

Children get ruined for life by molestation. ANd you are right - being molested as children or young adolescents, as well as bad or absent relationship with father - are the main causes of homosexuality.

Even if you adopt an 18 year old. All adoptions are backdated to the birth of the child. At least in my state.

thanks for the clarification. It seems that the document isn’t a certificate of birth, rather one of ownership, like a title to a house listing the current owners.

In some respects there is no difference except one is not allowd to sell, unless a lawyer brokers the case.

Although from what I’ve read, males are more likely to molest, but female homosexuals are more likely to molest/seduce underage girls than the general public.

All we can do is stand up for the truth whenever we can, and live the truth in our own lives. Not everyone can be a big important person. But lots of little people standing up and living the truth can have momentous effect. And at least, being faithful to God.

Hey, just because someone’s gay doesn’t mean they are a pederast! Look, in the foster care system, you sometimes have some really unpleasant choices. You can have the kid languish in the system, which doesn’t prepare them at all for life outside (because gov’t makes a LOUSY parent), or maybe there’s someone out there that wants to be a parent that just happens to be gay. I don’t like it, either but I’d say if there are no hetero married couples or single people to take a kid, having them be raised by gay people may not be such a terrible thing. Believe me, state run group homes and other foster homes can’t give the kids the stability they need.

My wife and I were on a waiting list for 7 years, through the county/ state. We went through numerous screenings, meetings etc... We were finally selected for a sibling group. The oldest girl (13 years old) had no interest in being adopted, she wanted to live with her neglectful/abusive mother. She was placed in a residential facility to deal with some issues related to the adoption. She requested and the facility recommended that she be separated from the other two, her law guardian agreed with her. The county agency requested that they not be separated. This meant that every two weeks we had to travel 200 miles one way to either pick her up or take the other two for a sibling visit (gas at our expense). We begged the county to reconsider, they wouldn't hear it. Eventually we had to cancel because we could not afford all the wear and tear on the vehicles, or the gas expense. The county and states need to get out of the child welfare business, and let orphanages do the job.

The county and state agencies should be prosecuted and punished along with the homosexual molestors which they allow to adopt children, while normal applicants go wanting for the true love of a child.
