Finally another Freeper who gets it! Since this seems to have become the main thread I'll repeat what I posted on another thread:
So far even my fellow Freepers aren't getting it! So far I consider this the Israeli version of firing cruise missiles at tents and aspirin factories, a December Surprise. Israel is having an election within 2 months. The leftists who are running the show now, who botched the Lebanon war and who generally want to negotiate their own assisted suicide are behind Bibi in the polls. But Bibi is strangely running a McCain type campaign which might actually let them stay in power. Plus, their soul mate Messiah will surely try to help them. IF Olmert and his anointed successor, Tzipi Livni, can pretend to be hard core through the election they may delude enough short memoried voters into keeping them. These attacks are politically zero risk to Livni. Everyone, even Hammas, knows they are deserved. No one, not even Hammas, cares about the 'victims.' They are the moral equivalent of suicide bombers 'volunteering' to help keep the blind sheep in power in Israel. Hammas, Hezbollah, the Israeli left and the rest of the usual suspects know Livni will resume being her traditional useful idiot after the election. With Bibi they might be facing an Israeli Samson standing alone against their world; with Livni they'll have Delilah in a wig.

Don't applaud the current government's response now when their earlier actions caused this mess. Instead send Bibi some Rogaine!

God bless Israel, and all her true allies and friends.

This is a good beginning. Fatah factions( the ones America seems to think is safer and more peaceful) have been slamming Israel with rockets and such also. Now for America to issue a time line and for Iran/Russia to start up their Lebanese factions....sadly Cindy people, the majority of people will listen to the Arab/Pali propaganda more than the hostile buildups and the 3,000 rockets since the beginning of this year

Yes, May G!d Bless Israel Baruch hashem Y'srael! because in the bloody end G!D will not abandon His children.

I call 195 a decent start.

And I think bombing the hamas 'graduation ceremony' was a particularly nice touch.

Too bad Jimmuh Carter wasn't giving the commencement address at the time.

Vatican calls for end to Middle East violence

The Vatican’s spokesman has urged Israelis and Palestinians to renounce violence and seek a peaceful solution to their conflict after Israel launched air strikes on the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire.

The Rev. Federico Lombardi told Vatican Radio on Saturday that Israel’s offensive will be a “very serious blow” to Hamas but could also cause many innocent victims and damage peace prospects in the Holy Land.

Lombardi said all sides “must look for a different way out, even though it seems impossible.”

Interesting in that it is not a complete condemnation of Israel on the attack.

As usual the UN and the EU ask for a ceasefire when Israel finally defends herself.

I'll believe that Israel is serious if they keep this up for the next 30 days or so before putting troops in.

While the planes are re-arming, start up with the artillery strikes. Then send the planes....repeat as necessary.

There's really no need to send in the Infantry for a while.

Pound them into dust with Tac-Air and Arty, cut off the supply lines, and starve them out.

When they come out of their holes, shoot them in the belly.

I wonder if the IDF has napalm in their inventory.....

There is no way the international community will allow a 30 day blockade of Gaza and watch thousands of civilians die. There is no way the liberal Israeli community will allow it either.

Secretary Condoleezza Rice

Washington, DC
December 27, 2008

The United States strongly condemns the repeated rocket and mortar attacks against Israel and holds Hamas responsible for breaking the ceasefire and for the renewal of violence in Gaza. The ceasefire should be restored immediately. The United States calls on all concerned to address the urgent humanitarian needs of the innocent people of Gaza.
