It’s been 60 years since you sat in a nice restaurant?
Oh no...I just remember it from when I was a little kid. I’ve been to the best. One of the best was in DC. Favorite meal...Veal French.
The last time I was in a super fancy restaurant my date made me eat snails. I really don’t see why people think they are so special or why they are willing to pay so much for them. It’s basically a little piece of rubber dipped in butter. The butter is nice, but the meat is not quite up to par, imo.
Give me a nice little mom&pop italian steak house any day. I’m a sucker for fettuccine alfredo with chicken and a nice big fat salad with lotsa blue cheese crumbs. And I don’t really care if the two of them aren’t supposed to go together or not. Also I prefer beer instead of wine with the meal. A cheap american light beer seems to mix the best with the flavor of the food. The fancier beers will overpower the flavor of the alfredo sauce.
I’ve always said that if you want a good steak, go to a little independent Italian restaurant. The steaks are always exceptional (and the coffee too).
Now I’m hungry.
THere’s a little italian style mom&pop restaurant fairly close to me that is owned by greeks. They do italian food with a greek flair. I think I’m going to have to go there now. I prefer blue cheese crumbs on my salad, but feta cheese works too.
Lo and behold, the thread immediately above this one was Oprah falls off the fat wagon (The wagon is grateful).
The titles next to each other are kind of ironic, don't you think?
Cheers!
