Join us in sending Holiday wishes to our Troops, Veterans & thier families!
" Enjoy this holiday season, remember who keeps you safe at home. Think of the Sailor, Marine or G.I. out there feeling quite alone. They choose to be there, even on Christmas night. Support your troops, what they do for this country, is indeed right."
"Thanks to veterans who have done military Christmas in the past. The new troops continue the tradition, to make our freedom last. Sleep well this Christmas Eve, at home in your warm bed. To our military, defending the nation, full speed ahead." Major Van Harl USAF Ret. 20 December 2003
I'm not quite sure how this is supposed to work....

~Belleau Wood~
Oh, the snowflakes fell in silence Over Belleau Wood that night For a Christmas truce had been declared By both sides of the fight
As we lay there in our trenches The silence broke in two By a German soldier singing A song that we all knew
Though I did not know the language The song was "Silent Night" Then I heard my buddy whisper, "All is calm and all is bright"
Then the fear and doubt surrounded me "Cause I'd die if I was wrong But I stood up in my trench And I began to sing along
Then across the frozen battlefield Anothers voice joined in Until one by one each man became A singer of the hymn
Then I thought that I was dreaming For right there in my sight Stood the German soldier 'Neath the falling flakes of white
And he raised his hand and smiled at me As if he seemed to say Here's hoping we both live To see us find a better way
Then the devil's clock struck midnight And the skies lit up again And the battlefield where heaven stood Was blown to hell again
But for just one fleeting moment The answer seemed so clear Heaven's not beyond the clouds It's just beyond the fear
No, heaven's not beyond the clouds It's for us to find it here

I want to thank all of the brave men and women who serve in our military. I appreciate what you have done, and are doing to protect me and my family. YOU GUYS ROCK!!
Merry Christmas and God Bless you all.
I would also like to wish all of you FReepers a very Merry Christmas.
I just had to share this with you guys. Even if you're not a cat lover, you've gotta love this one. :o)
When I took my Christmas tree out of the box, I had to get an extension cord from the kitchen. (I hadn't even straightened the branches out on the tree.) When I walked back into the living room, I found Mr. Bubbles in the middle of the tree. He actually fell asleep in the tree. LOL! I have no idea how he managed to climb into the middle of the tree without it falling over, but he did.
His eyes look like the lights on the tree. In one they're red, and the other one's turquoise. I guess he was trying to disguise himself so I wouldn't notice him. ;o)
Here's my little guy laying on the hard drive. His favorite place. He's been FReeping with me for almost 4 years. ;o)

Luke Chapter 2 Verses 1-18
1 At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire.
2 (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
3 All returned to their own towns to register for this census.
4 And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee.
5 He took with him Mary, his fiance, who was obviously pregnant by this time.
6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.
7 She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the village inn.
8 That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep.
9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terribly frightened,
10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news of great joy for everyone!
11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David!
12 And this is how you will recognize him: You will find a baby lying in a manger, wrapped snugly in strips of cloth®MDNM¯!”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God:
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to all whom God favors.*”1
15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Come on, let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this wonderful thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 They ran to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.
17 Then the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.
18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished
Merry Christmas and God Bless everyone at the FR Canteen.
