ROGERS, Ark. – An Arkansas woman has given birth to her 18th child.
Michelle Duggar delivered the baby girl by Caesarean section Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. The baby, named Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.
"The ultimate Christmas gift from God," said Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the 18 children. "She's just absolutely beautiful, like her mom and her sisters."
The Duggars now have 10 sons and eight daughters.
Jim Bob Duggar said Michelle started having contractions Wednesday night. She needed the C-section, her third, because the baby was transverse. Jim Bob said both baby and mother were doing well Thursday night.
"We both would love to have more," he said.

Jim Bob Duggar is 43, a year older than his wife. Their oldest child, Joshua, is 20.
The other Duggar children, in between Joshua and Jordyn-Grace, are Jana, 18; John-David, 18; Jill, 17; Jessa, 16; Jinger, 14; Joseph, 13; Josiah, 12; Joy-Anna, 11; Jeremiah, 9; Jedidiah, 9; Jason, 8; James, 7; Justin, 6; Jackson, 4; Johannah, 3; and Jennifer, 1.
"Our whole family is excited about Jordyn's addition to our family," Jim Bob Duggar said. "She's just perfect in every way."

Probably just Arkansas, and as far as I'm concerned, they can have it. I want to inherit a piece in Missouri!
They seem a little, well, weird and unsocial. Perhaps an FLDS sect? I’ll call it the “J FLDS Sect.” It’s great that they love having kids but something is a little off.
The laundry and cooking for that many people is daunting. I think the Duggar’s get criticized because of the intrusion (their choice) of the TV cameras. Honest...seeing their older girls in a few of their episodes was harsh...the camera’s capture all. In on show the Duggars met with another homeschooling, large family...the other mom was as ‘spacy’ as Michelle...and their older girls were ‘discussing’ recipes and cooking for crowds. And the girls were so tired and ‘old’ looking. Yes...responsibility is great...but turning into a full time sous chef for 18 people before your 16th birthday is a little sad. And before I get flamed...the Duggars keep control of the show’s contents (apparently they have a final edit) so they bring about any criticism by openning their family to a reality TV audience (but hey...it brings good coin.)

ALL the people in the world could live 4 to a house, 1 house per lot, in a land area approximately the size of the state of Texas.
I saw a couple specials or episodes of their TV show. Amazing family.
Have lots of kids, have a home business, give a lot to charity, DON’T FEED THE BEAST.
And just what are you basing your judgement of “weird and unsocial” on?
I don't care why they had the baby, but it looks like the baby is well loved and provided for. Everything except congrats to the family is none of our damn business.
The same could be said about Rosie O'Donnell and her family and I'm sure you'll afford her the same courtesy, right?
I only have 4 and my house is usually a mess and I’ve learned to embrace the chaos. I can’t imagine how families like the Duggars do it but I admire them.

I’ve seen a few episodes of Jon and Kate plus 8. Cracks me up. Both parents have a great sense of humor and those kids are so cute.
She said something about after 4 is when she decided if she was going to have more, things were going to have to change. It’s just hard to believe out of 18 there never is a “ he’s looking at me” fight or that she and J Bob don’t get into it every once in awhile.
Actually, no.... I haven't owned a televisor receiver in many years.
And felicitations to the O'Donnells, as well, if they have managed that many, that well.

Chores and responsibilites are essential for a large family (I only have five)...but, ultimately the chores should not be full time jobs (the laundry girl—it was Jinger I believe...the kid was waaaaay to excited over front loading machines for a person not cashing a Maytag paycheck). It was just kind of sad (to me).

Congrats to the Duggar family. They are a beautiful family, and that new little girl has a lifetime of love ahead of her.
Of course. That’s a given in our house. Two of the kids like to cook so they enjoy helping with dinner and especially with baking and helping for our holiday feasts. They have their own favorite recipes, too.
The other two don’t like the cooking part at all.
All have their weekly chores and daily chores.
The two teens have jobs outside the house and have for the last couple of years. All help out and contribute.
But our house isn’t one that could be held up as an example for organization. Half the time, the house looks like a tornado went through it.
No, they are a Christian family. And their social skills, from what I’ve been able to discern, are more advanced than average kids.
If you’ve read the bible, you’ll conclude that large families are not in the least unusual.
