Tirana, Dec. 18, 2008 (AENews) –Two independent groups from the European Union and the UN have discovered that international officials in Kosovo mismanaged more than 400 million euro, reported the German daily “Die Welt” on Wednesday.

According to the alleged reports, EU funds that had been destined for Kosovo’s energy sector, were misappropriated by UN officials in Kosovo, in conduit with local politicians.

The investigation conducted by the EU Anti Fraud Office, UN investigators and the Italian Financial Police has found more than 50 cases of financial embezzlement.

In twelve of these cases there is proof of criminal liability. According to EU data roughly 2.3 billion euro have been granted for Kosovo as aid since 1999, after the NATO bombing of the forces of former Yugoslav strongman Slobodan Milosevic.

It is expected that by 2011 the EU will grant Kosovo another one billion euro, for the development of independent institutions and its infrastructure.

The reports highlights the high levels of corruption in Kosovo, Europe’s youngest state.

Add that to this report, saying that half of all registered businesses in Kosovo are failing, and what you are looking at is -- at best, one big money pit -- and at worst, one big money-laundering operation for our tax dollars!

Kosovo Albanian sculptor Izeir Mustafa works on a statue of former President Bill Clinton in a studio in the northern Kosovo town of Podujevo, 50km (30 miles) north of Pristina on Thursday May 24, 2007. The former U.S. President Bill Clinton will appear taller and washed in bronze in Kosovo as he will greet those entering the province's capital. The statue of Clinton is expected to be erected soon in Pristina in its main boulevard named after the former president to honor him for stopping the Serbian crackdown on independence-seeking ethnic Albanians over eight years ago. "erected?"

I know that it's hard to get your mind out of the gutter when it comes to Clinton -- oh never mind, I am just as bad now!

Any more proof needed that the UN needs to be disbanded...as if raping little kids in the Congo weren’t bad enough. Don’t forget the US taxpayers cover close to 25% of the UN budget, and this economy can we afford it?

That's chump change, what was the last 7 digit figure Bush, Paulson and their cronies got away with? Ya think they're all laughing at getting away with the ripoff? I do.

Disgusting, isn’t it? However disbandment will never happen, at least not during the years of the liberal “feel good” Obamanation “rule”.

I think soon they will be asking Serbs again to stand at the gates to europe. Not today or soon, but eventually, Romans knew what they were doing long time ago.

“So what was Slick Willie’s cut?”

Likely substantially less than Bush’s! After all, it was Bush and his crowd who handed the Kosovo Albanians independence for their little Mohammedan terror statelet in the Balkans.

It's makes me smile when I think of how great it's going to be the day some future generation of Serbs pulls that statue down and reduce it to rubble.

It'd be perfect if a brand new Orthodox Christian monastery were built in its place.

Knock yerself out, Izeir. Too bad your crap ain't gonna last.

"So all Willie gets is that big statue?"

Kosovo is known for being THE transit hub for importing sex slaves into Western Europe -- and his wife is going to be our next Secretary of State so she is going to kept kind of busy. My guess is that Bill is going to be spending a lot of time in Europe!

Kosovo will be erecting a statue to Clinton and AP reports it. Poland will be erecting a statue honoring Reagan, and they ignore it.

It is my understanding that legitimate “registered businesses” in muslim-occupied Kosovo constitute just the tip of the iceberg, and that the vast majority of business is in the criminal “underground economy”. So the statistic you cite is worth little.

Your idea that occupied Kosovo is a center for money-laundering (and NOT just of our tax dollars—mainly of the earnings of organized crime), however, is probably spot on!!!!

Peace, justice, and civilization will only return to Kosovo with the Serb army.
