President-elect reveals how parenting tricks in shaming children influenced his management theory:

Barack Obama's coronation as Time magazine's person of the year is not a terribly great surprise, and the subsequent interview covers quite a bit of familiar ground, albeit in a very nicely-written way. However, there are few gems among the pages which stand out – one in particular when Obama is drawn on his management technique. The general theory is guilt first, followed by fear...

There are times where guilt doesn't work, and then you have to use fear.

It's not going to be a fun four years...

It’s nice to see (vis-a-vis his “grandmother comments”) that he still appears to be assigning racist thoughts/motivations to “typical whit people”.

Guilt, followed by Fear. Probably the least effective man management style possible. It is clear that Obama has never had to be a manager before.

And now you have a Commander-in-Chief whose idea of Leadership Style is Guilt, followed by Fear.

What a horrifying prospect!

I hardly ever pay attention to the British press. Mostly tabloid garbage.

But they are they only ones paying attention to the real Barack Obama. The US press is too afraid to go there. They are deep in the tank for Obammie.

Guilt implies ‘sin’, and liberals don’t normally like the concept of sin.

Liberals sure ARE into their head games. Maybe the reality in your own head is somehow better than stark staring facts. We are in for it with this LaLa-land jacka$#!

LEADERSHIP CHARACTERISTICS OF CULTS:

12. The group focuses upon a leadership that members appear to display a zealous, unquestioning commitment towards.

13. Often the members’ allegiance is based upon the belief the leadership is, or represents, the Messiah, an avatar, a prophet, or possesses a special anointing from God.

14. The group’s leadership is not accountable to any authorities (as contrasted with ministers, pastors, priests or rabbis in mainstream religions or leaders of non-religious groups)

.

15. Significant, and sometimes total, decision making authority rests with the leadership.

16. The leadership of the group will impose pressure or may openly dictate, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act and feel. (e.g. lifestyle choices, dating, marriage, employment, education, clothing, living arrangements, child rearing, etc.)

17. The leadership may avoid or brush off questions they don’t have scriptural answers for.

18. The leadership will often answer questions differently depending upon who is the speaker and who is the listener.

19. Obedience to the leadership is understood to be required and expected from members.

20. The leadership is often emulated by members. This may include such items as similar mannerisms, clothing styles, modes of speech, hair styles, and attitudes.

21. Indiscretions and improper conduct by the leadership are often ignored or covered up.

METHODS CULTS USE TO CONTROL THEIR MEMBERS:

22. The group’s recruitment techniques are often deceptive.

23. New members are often lavished with love and attention thereby creating an attachment between the group and the new member. Later, further love and attention depends upon the member’s good performance (ie. love is conditional, not unconditional).

24. The group’s leadership induces, accentuates, and manipulates feelings of fear and guilt within its membership as a method of control.

We see how he snickered and laughed at any journalist who dared to ask a serious question.

Trouble is, those journalists are suitably cowed or are simply banished from the press plane or never called on again.

If Obama is willing to treat his own children this way, then Americans should expect no less.

Guilt, fear, coercion...

Now, to be fair, I think a lot of parents use these kinds of tactics to discipline/raise their children. Parents spank, yell, and threaten in hope it frightens the kid so much that he/she never does that again and use the “I’m disappointed in you” line...

I think it is frightening, though, to hear it from him because of his ideaology and background.

You all know I think Obama is a big phoney but I think he has been much more temporate and reasonable than I thought he would be thus far and I give him a peppercorn of credit for that so far.

One important insight into O’s mind, confirmed again and again, is his inability to process complex ideas. The stuttering and hesitancy displayed in much of his speech has been explained by the fawning press as scholarly wisdom. It is not. Try as one may, it is difficult to find a single instance of wisdom or even particularly insightful intelligence in any of his ramblings.
Obama’s speech is laden with the trivial, the obvious, the mundane and, most commonly, the profane. He appeals to thought that is shallow, bigoted and intellectually vulgar. That his drivel is touted by so many as wisdom only demonstrates the failure of the illiterati to grasp elemental thought.
The man is an intellectually shriveled midget, lost in the wilderness of his benighted mind.
