Court won't oust Blago
Rick Pearson reports that the Illinois Supreme Court rejected Lisa Madigan's attempt to have Blagojevich declared unfit to hold office.
Too bad for her this case could not be decided by the NJ Supreme Court. I am sure they could have found a way...
Yes it is. But the longer Blago remains, the more air time Chicago’s political underbelly receives and the more it can be linked to The One.

The way little Lisa Madigan has piously sought to portray herself as a corruption fighter for the people during this whole debacle makes me sick. Lisa Madigan is JUST as corrupt as Blago, she just hasn’t been caught with her hand in the cookie jar yet! She looked the other way for YEARS while Chicago machine corruption ran rampant, but NOW that Blago’s been caught with the smoking gun, she demands his ouster immediately, so we can go back to “business as usual” — due process be damned.
The Chicago machine wants Blago out of the way ASAP now that he’s damaged goods. The need to have Crook County corruption swept under the rug and that’s not possible as long as he’s the face of the IL RATs.
Lisa Madigan is trying to bypass the legal procedures for removing a governor and invoke an obscure clause used in emergencies to remove elected officials who suffer from illness. If we allow this to go forward and let the A.G. and four judges remove a Governor on a whim, it will set a dangerous precedent for future governors. Basically, five people (A.G. + 4 judges) in a closed door meeting would be able to remove whoever they wanted for whatever reason! Little Lisa says we can’t wait for impeachment. Of course this all could have been prevented if we VOTERS had the power of RECALL like 35 other states, but oh yeah, the Chicago machine fought tooth and nail AGAINST giving voters that power when it was brought up in the last election cycle, remember Lisa? Looks like you reap what you sow.
I urge everyone to call the A.G.’s office and the IL SC on Monday, and give them hell about this. You want to remove the Governor, do it thur the proper process!! Let’s have an open, public, impeachment trial and make the case that Blago is unfit to serve.

Madigan was trying to have the Illinois Supreme Court give a no confidence vote. That’s not the job of any court and to its credit, the Illinois Supreme Court rejected Madigan’s request. Now it’s time for the Illinois State Legislature to do its job by removing Blago from office.
I thought you were supposed to be convicted in a court of law before you are punished? This Blago may be a scumbag but I can’t help wondering if this punishment without trial stuff will carry over to anyone that is accused of a crime.

Wow maybe IL has a few judges that are not crooks. Maybe they might even take a case to force Obama to show his birth certificate. Looks like SCOTUS only upholds the Constitution for Gitmo terrorists.
It isn’t a circus - it is a full blown coverup and subversion of justice. Fitzpatrick stopped the investigation at the point where Rahm’s negotiations became too dangerous for Obama. We are now left with Blago thinking he “can ‘Slick’ this out” until the heat blows over. They won’t get him on anything because no money changed hands in front of the FBI. Blago will get off, Rahm will have to lie out of his evil ass, and Obama will play innocent. Such is the ‘circus’ we’ll endure for the next 8 years. That coupled with the ‘circus’ to come reminiscent of the Roman Circus will make a devastating eulogy for America.
No kidding! The legislature is going to take WEEKS to remove Blagojevich from office! This cannot wait that long. The Senate seat is too important!
The people of Illinois should be allowed to decide the Senate seat. Who knows, they may just elect a Republican (presuming that not too many dead people vote in Chicago). The election should also include a vote for a new governor.
Blagojevich needs to be removed ASAP! They need new leadership!

Of course not! They are all bent, crooked DemoCriminal lap dummie, bought and paid for, DemoMob pocket trash. Who should have a separate RICO Task Force, looking to body cavity search them all, and throw them in a Federal penitentiary for the next 20 years. Every single judge on the Illinois Supreme Court, is a criminal.
