TBILISI (Reuters) Georgia said on Saturday hundreds of Russian soldiers had moved into a disputed Georgian village near breakaway South Ossetia and had pushed out Georgian police, fuelling fears of confrontation.
A regional police official and an interior ministry spokesman said between 500 and 600 Russian soldiers were in the village of Perevi, close to the de facto border with the region.

Putie tried to Anschluss the Ukraine and is now getting away with pulling a Sudetenland in Georgia. He’s also begun pushing up on Poland.
Anyone else see a familiar pattern here? Especially in the craven, cowardly, pathetically weak reactions to his predations by the “western powers”?

Maybe Obama can suggest a UN Councel meeting to stop it.

This is just Putin’s openning salvo against little Barry and his perceived weakness as an incoming POTUS.
If you can’t stand up to Blago, how are you going to be able to stand up to Putin, BinLaden, ElCamisa Roja, the Dear Leader (in whatever hospital bed he’s in now), the Supreme Leader and his little pimp, and the mindless twit in Damascus?

I don’t think this is going to be anything to worry about. I don’t see a large scale invasion under way, but it is interesting that they would re-take a town that really has no strategic value. Maybe the Russians are calculating that with our economy in the dumps, our president-elect embroiled in a scandal, and our military stretched thin that it can get away with bullying smaller republics? Should be interesting to see how this Russia-Georgia scenario plays out.
To: Grimmy
Well, President-Elect Obama is a little tied up right now with his own “issues” and doesn't have time to deal with this big ole’ meanie.
