Chicago Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL) is the anonymous "Senate Candidate #5" whose emissaries Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich reportedly claimed offered up to a million dollars to name him to the U.S. Senate, federal law enforcement sources tell ABC News.
According to the FBI affidavit in the case, Blagojevich "stated he might be able to cut a deal with Senate Candidate 5 that provided ROD BLAGOJEVICH" with something "tangible up front."
Jackson Jr. said this morning he was contacted yesterday by federal prosecutors in Chicago who he said "asked me to come in and share with them my insights and thoughts about the selection process."
Jackson Jr. said "I don't know" when asked if he was Candidate #5, but said he was told "I am not a target of this investigation."

Oh geez, where would Jesse Jr and his emissaries learn to do a thing like this?
The next time a cop pulls you over, offer him $100 not to write the ticket. See what happens...
America...the land of the free where anyone can be anything(as long as they have money)

And then, on December 4, something changed, and that change was the presence of the person referred to in the complaint as Candidate Five. If the complaint is correct, in Candidate Five, Blagojevich finally found a prospective senator who might come up with money $500,000 for Blagojevichs political organization in return for the Obama seat. From the criminal complaint:
On December 4, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke to Advisor B and informed Advisor B that he was giving Senate Candidate 5 greater consideration for the Senate seat because, among other reasons, if ROD BLAGOJEVICH ran for re-election Senate Candidate 5 would raise[] money for ROD BLAGOJEVICH, although ROD BLAGOJEVICH said he might get some (money) up front, maybe from Senate Candidate 5 to insure Senate Candidate 5 kept his promise about raising money for ROD BLAGOJEVICH. (In a recorded conversation on October 31, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH described an earlier approach by an associate of Senate Candidate Five as follows: We were approached pay to play. That, you know, hed raise me 500 grand. An emissary came. Then the other guy would raise a million, if I made him (Senate Candidate 5) a Senator.)
The complaint goes on to say that on that same day, December 4, Blagojevich told a person referred to as Fundraiser A that he was elevating Candidate Five on the Senate list in the hopes that Candidate Five would provide something tangible up front. Blagojevich told Fundraiser A to reach out to an associate of Candidate Five and say that Blagojevich was under pressure to appoint somebody else and wanted to know if Candidate Five would really come up with the money, especially because, in the words of the complaint, Blagojevich had a prior bad experience with Candidate Five not keeping his word. (That, of course, suggests that Candidate Five is probably a well-known political figure in Illinois; no definitive word yet on who that is.) Blagojevich told Fundraiser A to meet personally with the associate of Candidate Five and, in the words of the complaint, communicate the urgency of the situation.
The dealing seemed very close to a climax and an explosive political scandal. And then, on the morning of December 5, the Chicago Tribune ran a story on its front page reporting that law enforcement had secretly recorded Blagojevichs conversations as part of a criminal investigation. Blagojevich immediately instructed Fundraiser A to undo the plan to meet personally with the associate of Candidate Five. Blagojevich instead turned his energy to preparing his legal defense.
I am shocked, just shocked, I tell ya!
LOLOLOLOL
Wow, Jr. is a lot shorter than Daddy isn't he?
“”It is impossible for someone on my behalf to have a conversation that would suggest any type of quid pro quo or any payments or offers,” Jackson Jr. told ABC News. “An impossiblity to an absolute certainty.”
Algonquin J. Calhoun would be proud...
BLAGO'S BLUE FITZMAS
Tune: "Blue Christmas"
I'll have a blue Fitzmas indicted
I'll have to do something to fight it
Allegations they read of the green that I sought
Don't mean a thing, 'cause as yet nobody's bought
And when my blue colleagues disown me
That's when my blue "F" words start flowing
My old pal sees my plight, but he throws me from his bus
So I'll have a blue, blue Fitzmas
I hate this blue Fitzmas disruption
It puts a crimp in my corruption
Senate seat up for sale should bring oodles of cash
But instead I post bail and I break out in a rash
And when my blue colleagues disown me
That's when my blue "F" words start flowing
My old pal sees my plight, but he throws me from his bus
So I'll have a blue, blue, blue Fitzmas
Blago should have sold it on eBay...............
Somebody's going to jail!
Loisiana and NJ are bastions of integrity by comparison.

Senate candidate 1 thru 5!....COME OUT,COME OUT wherever you are!
“Chicago Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL) is the anonymous “Senate Candidate #5” whose emissaries Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich reportedly claimed offered up to a million dollars to name him to the U.S. Senate..”
But...but...but..I’m...I’m a Democrat!
I think not too, because 0bama’s name hardly came up in the Rezko trial. Fitzgerald doesn’t want to try and take down the messiah.
Oh my. So, am I correct to presume that Jackson can agree to co-operate with Fitzgerald for a lighter sentence?
Too bad the feds didn’t wait until after Jesse Jr. paid the bribe for his appointment. The feds jumped in too soon. They were afraid too many people in The Office Of The President Elect were going to get caught up in the scandal, especially the Big Fish. The feds better release all of their tapes and not delete what incriminates 0.
The race card will be played in 5...4...3...
I was just going to ping you both!
This just keeps on getting better!!
