A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information, and a spokesman for the governor did not immediately return a phone call for comment.

When I heard Dodd say that the head of General Motors should move on down the road. IOW, resign.....I thought my head would explode.

Yeah, you can bet a lot of politicians are checking their phone logs this morning. He is radioactive for Democrats, yet I’m sure that he has a few cards up his sleeve. Must be hard to trash someone and wonder what they have on you.

Obama claims he had no contact with the GOV’s OFFICE.

Is this going to be Obama’s ‘I didn’t have sex with that woman’ moment?

I wonder if he'll have a "heart attack" while behind bars and before he can rat out cut a deal provide some clarity on his actions and assistance in this matter?

“Is this going to be Obama’s ‘I didn’t have sex with that woman’ moment?”

Guess he’s pointing at Rahm as the point man.

I think that we can speculate that Rahm pulled the trigger on this to shut up a pushy Blago. He was getting too transparent in his pursuit.

a must see photo on #712

I saw that. Too funny! BTW, it looks like the Dems are putting on a big push to get him out of office. The politicization of Obama's Senate seat is causing it. If it weren't for that, I don't think we'd be seeing such scrambling.

RUSH says he believes that Fitzgerald shut down an on-going Democrat crime-spree investigation after being called by Rohm Emanual.

There could be another reason. On Fox, de jedge was just saying that Fitzgerald may have bought himself another 4 years in office. It's custom for all Federal prosecutors to be asked to resign their office at the time of a presidential change of office. Now, Obama may be politically cornered in re-appointing Fitzgerald to another term. If he doesn't he'll open himself up to major political criticism. Fitzgerald may have acted to save his job...

If I heard Obama’s words correctly, he only said he did not contact the Gov’s OFFICE. He could have called him at home though..or his hotel room at the governor’s meeting.....lol..perhaps a cell phone.

In an Oct. 19, 2006, file photo is Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, left, and an Oct. 27, 2006, file photo of Stuart Levine, right, both shown leaving Chicago's federal building after court appearances. According to a federal criminal complaint Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, the governor schemed with Rezko, Stuart Levine and others to get financial benefits for himself and his campaign committee.

I bet that's why Drudge has put up an older subpoena about Rezko... to make sure people that didn't know see the connection as it becomes clearer.
