A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information, and a spokesman for the governor did not immediately return a phone call for comment.

So #5 is Emil Jones or Rep. Danny Davis.

Roma was aghast that someone in the government hadn’t told her to abort some of those kids! Despicable hag.

I've been listening to Don and Roma for over a decade and I have never heard her say anything remotely like that.

Oh, ok. I must have missed that.

He was as unaware at the time as Don was. He seemed a little shell shocked and was rambling. I thought it pretty funny in a way. Here's the lt. governor learning he just may get promoted soon, and he's coming across as unworthy.

Yeah...my take exactly, too.

You know what I'm wondering this morning....If Blago's shtick with the Republic sit-ins wasn't a way to influence a future jury pool....

My second guess is Emil Jones for #5.

I’m thinking #1 is Jones and #5 is Jackson Jr.

Tht is where I’d focus my investigative efforts. Given the size of the funds expected, Emil is my choice.

Danny Davis is too exposed (US Rep) whereas Emil can operate under the umbrella of The Machine, unnoticed.

Another thing I find interesting is that Opossum has, lterally, millions of dollars left in his campaign fund.

Like flies to schmidt, eh?

“Senator says he’s still willing to help Blagojevich despite - hiring concerns...”

I am profoundly glad that our “toy” Governor has been indicted but everyone needs to take a deep breath and calm down about this cesspool of corruption reaching up to taint the President-elect.

President-elect Obama was working a different taproot of corruption in Illinois politics than Governor Blagojevich. Obama had a corrupt relationship with a bevy of politically connected real estate developers including Tony Rezko. The Illinois cityscape is blighted with hundreds of abandoned projects erected by these developers. Obama acted as the chief fundraiser in Springfield for these “developers’ many of whom had never had put a single structure in the entire lives until hooking up with Obama. Unfortunately, under Illinois law, none of this blatantly corrupt back scratching is illegal.

At this moment of Governor Blagojevich’ s indictment I am undergoing a profound sense of nostalgia for the administration of Jim Edgar. His demeanor was that of a pasty white door-to-door Amway salesman but he balanced the budget and ran a squeaky clean administration. To paraphrase Jack Nicholson that, in terms of Illinois politics, is “as good as it gets”.

Quinn may take over through impeachment, but Lisa Madigan’s already made it known she’s interested in the chair. And she’ll trump Quinn on any intention he has of running in an election.

And that’s a sad commentary on politics in this state...

So sweet I would go into a diabetic coma...and I’m not even diabetic!

But someone above said that Junior is probably candidate #1. :-(

I used to work with a girl who was married to someone in the Jesse Jackson family. OMG what a bunch of weirdos. They wouldn’t let her drive. Someone in their family had to drop her off and pick her up every day. If they couldn’t find someone to do it, she couldn’t come to work. They had weird rules about what she could wear (only skirts) and whens she had to be home. Anything you could think of they had a rule for it.

Look for the Hyde Park connection.

Recall that Blago said (taped) that if he appointed Candidate #1, all he’d get from Opossum is “appreciation”.
