Will the anti-Obama zealots give the birth allegations a rest?
Rocky Mountain News ^ | 12/9/08 | Editors

Posted on 12/09/2008 4:27:21 AM PST by pissant

By refusing on Monday to hear a lawsuit challenging whether Barack Obama is indeed eligible under the Constitution to become the 44th president, the U.S. Supreme Court should have put to rest the fanciful rumors about the president-elect.

Yet the justices' action will not end the fringe conspiracy-mongering. David Weigel reported in Slate that Obama's foes have mailed "information" packets to presidential electors in advance of their Dec. 15 vote; right-wing activist Bob Schultz, who has orchestrated the campaign, says electors who vote for Obama are committing "treason to the Constitution."

May we offer some advice? Get a life. It appears that the phenomenon known as Bush Derangement Syndrome - with unhinged left-wingers willing to believe any scurrilous rumor about the 43rd president - has a mirror image on the right.

Some claim that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, and his birth certificate was faked. Others concede he was born in Hawaii but say he gave up his U.S. citizenship at age 6 when his mother, who married a citizen of Indonesia, moved the family to that nation.

It's difficult to believe rational adults can take these allegations seriously (and they have in fact been debunked). Obama served eight years in the Illinois legislature and most of one term in the U.S. Senate. If he were not a citizen, don't you think at least one of his campaign opponents would have found the proof to make that charge stick?

Even if the facts were murky, however, what possible point is there to raising them at this time? Does anyone seriously believe a court is going to try to bar from office the candidate chosen as president by a clear majority of voters? What do these zealots want, civil disorder?

Our Founding Fathers were Brilliant enough to understand We did NOT want NOR Tolerate a Leader Who was just Elected by The Majority.....That is precisely why The President MUST BE a Natural Born Citizen of The United States and Why there is an Electoral College! GOD BLESS OUR FOUNDING FATHERS!

Honestly. It’s posts like this that bring me further into the belief that too many people really don’t know what they are talking about. It’s like “Man on the Street” right here on Free Republic.

Is the Rocky Mountain News the school newspaper of a public elementary school with a really bad Civics teacher?

Regardless of the merits of the claims of the court case, it is mind-boggling that the "Editors" of a major newspaper are so utterly clueless that Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution states:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President ...."

So, Editors of the Rocky Mountain News, let's have a little remedial Civics quiz:

Take out your Number 2 pencils and, in your best grown up handwriting, explain why Bob Hope, a U.S. citizen, could have served in the Illinois legislature and in the U.S. Senate but could NOT have been served as President of the United States.

(Hint: Look up where Bob Hope was born and look up what "natural born citizen" means.)

There are a lot of people who just don’t know that they are beat by a master liar... :-)

I know it. I also know that O will be sworn in as the 44th President. I am also beginning to suspect that O's omnificent power derives from mystery, and that his vault birth certificate would prove he was born on US soil.

Based on this mob rule mentality, our constitution is officially dead.

Now, Felipe de Jesus CALDERON Hinojosa & Schwarzenegger can run for US el presidente in 2112! They can run the pro Gay/Green Governator with the Presidente of Mexico for co el Presidentes of the 57 states.

With the voters in Mexico, South America, Canada, Europe, Iran and "new voters" in the Former USA, the Governator can be co presidente with the Mexican Presidente for life.

They will win by 200 million votes, and that settles that. No one will challenge either one including a lot of Freepers as they will fear riots if the constitution is considered. Just move on to 2040.

Rocky Mountain News Is Put Up for Sale After Loss
December 5, 2008, 6:51 am Link to This

The E.W. Scripps Company announced Thursday that it was selling the money-losing Rocky Mountain News, its largest newspaper, The New York Times’s Stephanie Clifford reported.

“This is probably one of the most gut-wrenching decisions that the company’s had to make in decades,” Mark G. Contreras, the senior vice president for newspapers at Scripps, told The Times.

The News, founded in 1859, is Colorado’s oldest continuously operated business. The newspaper won Pulitzer Prizes in 2006 for feature writing and feature photography.

Like other newspapers, The News has been facing declining classified and advertising revenue and rising distribution costs. Print advertising was down almost 20 percent in the third quarter, according to the Newspaper Association of America.

Scripps lost $11 million operating The News in the first nine months of the year.

No, it is because he is hiding something.

Yes, but what? What on this form could be so damning?

Turnabout is fair play.

Eight years of sowing lies about Bush are about to reap their just reward.

2012 game plan. Do not release any document that you don’t want out there and then when asked by the media point to this election as the benchmark.

“If you didn’t ask obama for it why are you asking me for it?”

BTW - I am not kidding.

“Sadly, too many ‘conservatives’ have given the green light to the marxist fraud as well.”

You are right! There are too many conservatives who are giving up their values to just say, well, it is such a mess it itsn’t worth the fight.

Listen to Glenn Beck now with Joe the Plumber. Joe talks about his new book and it will be a big seller, no matter what the New York Times says!

Don’t get me wrong I love to listen to them, but they show no courage at all.

The radio hosts are abosultely correct in staying away from this one.

There is no way in hell the Supremes will deny another (D) candidate an electoral victory. No way. Especially when said canidate is black. And especially over a petty issue like dual citizenship at birth.

I understand what you are saying and I am inclined to agree with you.

But, still does not excuse them for not standing up for the Constitution. You either back up the Constituton or shut up.

(not you) ;-)

I think Hillary knows the truth behind the BC but she dared not use it because it would have alienated blacks which the Dems covet so strongly.
