Introductory note from church friend telling others of Suzie's upcoming trip
Please be praying for Suzie as she makes the monumental trip back to the land of her birth to share the Story with her family. If you haven't met Suzie, you sure need to make a point to seek her out. She is an amazing young woman with tremendous resiliency and a true testament to the power of God over you even when you don't know who He is quite yet. Suzie came to the US speaking very little English....became a US citizen and a college grad. She is also a single mom of a teenaged son.
Let's commit to praying earnestly for Suzie's trip...for her safety, and that the Holy Spirit will be upon her and work through her to bring her family into His family!!
This is Suzie's note
Hi ***, I hope you are doing well!
I wanted to inform everyone that I will be going to Cambodia on January * at *:** and returning on February * at *:**. On the way there, I will have a * hours lay over at *****. On the way back, I will have an * hours lay over in ********.
Please pray for my safety during my travel and while staying in Cambodia as well as the reception between me and my family. More importantly, please pray for me as I have a hunger and desire to share Christ with my family. I feel that I don't know enough about the faith so please pray that God will give me the words and wisdom to share the truth and stay firm to potential resistance and negativity. My goal is to share about Christ and pray that the family and neighbors will see Christ through me...that will be one of the most profound and powerful testimony I can provide...I believe. I also wanted to purposely use this trip to recreate my past during the war so I can have closure, but due to the limited resources and certain conditions I will face, I am not sure if it will be possible.
Just a little flavor of my life for those who do not know me. I grew up during the war reigned by a group called the Khmer Rouge. I was taken away at the age of 5 to perform manual labor such as building roads and planting rice in the rice patty, work from before sunrise to after sunset while experiencing starvation everyday with the Khmer Rouge soldiers standing on the side ready to shoot and kill at any moment.
I was also kept from seeing my parents and the rest of my family. Every night laying in the stillness of the pitched dark world, all of my emotional and physical being ached, desperately missing and longing to be in the circle of my mother's arms again. Thus, many times I would escape in search for my parents, but always got caught by one of the Khmer Rouge's soldiers...sometimes caught at midway, sometimes caught as I reached my mother, and sometimes caught shortly after I have a few moments with my father/mother. With each escape attempt and when caught, it is called for one to be killed. However, in my case, I was never physically or verbally harmed by the soldier who caught me and brought me back to the dorm.
All of the times I was away from my parents and family, I had always felt a higher being was watching over me. Even in the midst of extreme and frozen fear, at times I felt calm because I felt the protection from a higher being and by a spirit. For many years I sought understanding about that. While alone, I longed and ached for my mother's love as well and always felt protection from above, escaped and came to Thailand in 1979 where I watched the Jesus Christ movie (not knowing a word of English yet ), and came to the US in 1982 where I was introduced to Christ. It was then that I knew the protection I felt ever so strongly came from God and the Holy Spirt. This is why I cannot be mute about sharing Christ with my family. This trip will mark the first time I unite with my family again since 1979.

Saying Prayers.
Praise God! Prayers will be said for God’s missionary!
Ping to FR prayer warriors! Thank you and may God Bless you!
Your faithful daughter has known of Your divine power and has experienced Your sovereign grace and the umbrella of Your protection. You created her with a divine purpose in mind, and she is about to return to her homeland to share with others the good news she has learned of You. Father, place Your powerful hand of protection upon her and give her the words to speak that will draw others to You. Open the hearts of family members and friends so that they may hear and believe the salvation that has been bought for them at so great a price. Grant this very special woman Your peace, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
It will be given her in that hour the right things to say. Father, give her a mouth and utterance her enemies are unable to refute. Open the eyes of her family’s understanding that they will hear with their spiritual ears and receive truth and grace and mercy.
Give Your angels charge concerning her, Sir. Thank You that her life is redeemed from destruction. We also pray for a complete healing of her soul—forgiveness and love to wipe away all the damage and lack she experienced as a youth.
We give You the glory for a life redeemed and rejoice together in Your goodness.
Amen.
Thank You, Kind Father, for Suzie's Testimony to Your Eternal, Great Love. Please be with her, Lord, in a Powerful Way as she Seeks to Share Your Gospel of Grace. May Your Spirit Grant her the Words, Lord, she should Speak. May Everyone she Speaks to Receive Jesus Christ as their Lord. Please Guard Your Precious Child on her Journey, Great King. Thank You for Keeping her Safe in Your Loving Hand.
We Give You Praise, Lord, for this Dear Daughter of Your Heart. May her Life be Blessed in Wonderful Ways we can't Even Begin to Imagine. For All Your Mercies, Abba, we Glorify Your Beautiful Name. Through Jesus' Grace, we Thank You, Your Majesty, amen.
Will pray for the young lady's safety during her trip, and for many souls to be saved by her testimony in her home country.
BTW tajgirvan, I recently received an email from Steve Godbold's parents. I'm not sure of their age, but I am 71 and I know they are both a few years older than I am. They have spent well over half their lives taking the gospel to the remote tribes of the Sahara desert, but even at their age they are still going back for another term of mission work among the desert tribes they know so well.
I am adding the text of the email below this paragraph, and if anyone reading it feels led to pray for this dear couple's safety and health in the same Islamic nation where their son was held captive for months please remember them before the Throne.
Dear Praying Friends, Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Monday morning we leave for the airport and Chad. We are still packing bags but it is coming together. -Please pray that we will remember everything and that check ins and flights will go well. Remember our health as we travel in cold airports and exposed to everybody's coughs and colds.
-Lift us up before the Lord as we get plugged back in with the mission and started with visas, truck insurance, truck permits, getting tires on the truck and trailer and battery for the truck to run, set up solar system and many other administrative things. Security is always a big question, personally and nationally and religiously.
-We need for you to call to the Lord for the ministry that we go to Chad to do. That the scheduling would work out, the believers will have ready hearts to learn how to be friends with their M. neighbors and share Christ with them in such a way that the neighbor will hear and respond. For traveling mercies as we go to a church each day.
-That American Christians would share Christ with their neighbors to relieve us so that we can go to Chad.
A very blessed Christmas to you. Don't let this Christmas get away from you without worshipping Jesus.
Because of that Name, Ann & Cash
Prayers for a successful and safe mission.
May The Lord be hold you in his hand on your journey.
And may the love of your family greet you and fulfill you beyond your greatest expectations.
