CHICAGO – President-elect Barack Obama braced the country for more tough times Sunday, saying twice in an interview that the nation’s already dismal economy would continue to worsen in the months ahead.
Obama, speaking to Tom Brokaw on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” used some of his starkest language yet to underscore the severity of the challenge he’ll face upon taking office next month.
“If you look at the unemployment numbers that came out yesterday, if you think about almost 2 million jobs lost so far, if you think about the fragility of the financial system and the fact that it is now a global financial system so that what happens in Thailand or Russia can have an impact here, and obviously what happens on Wall Street has an impact worldwide, when you think about the structural problems that we already had in the economy before the financial crisis, this is a big problem, and it's going to get worse,” he said in the interview taped Saturday.

Even worse, while we stood behind Bush's WMD and the Iraqi war he threw us under the bus by going on TV and practically stated that he regrets going into Iraq for the reasons stated.
What's next? Will Bush go on TV and state that his policies destroyed the US economy just to be 'Mr. Nice Guy'?
The Bush tax cuts are in effect. We have low taxes. I don’t know that the Reagan methods will work in this modern economy of ours. I really don’t know what will work and this is very scary. Also, the Repubs have ruined it for themselves. If they had been disciplined fiscally while in power, we could have tried to make the Dems do the same. But what will the Dems say-’who are you Repubs to talk about fiscal restraint when you have shown none.’ The last act of a Republican president is to essentially nationalize the banks-what a terrible mess.

That's alot of words for a lead in to state the obvious. Did ya ever notice his choice of words in any interview is meant to run out the clock to minimize any chance of being pinned down on something?
Basically what Obama is doing is looking ahead, he knows he won’t be fixing this economy, he knows that with his plans it will only get worse, so he is already prepared to say “Hey it’s not my fault, I inherited all this crap from Bush” a year from now, 2 years from now, he will still be blaming Bush and the media will repeat the same slogan “It’s all Bush’s fault”
The more I see of him the more convinced I am that he is not up to the task.

John McCain has been a leader in keeping the Internet free of taxes. As President, he will seek a permanent ban on taxes that threaten this engine of economic growth and prosperity.

o If a spending program is on the books, budgets assume that it is on the books forever — and continues to grow — even if the law says it expires.
o If low taxes are on the books, budgets don’t assume that they last forever. When they expire, those taxes are automatically raised.
o John McCain will reform budgeting to treat equally spending and taxes and to stop damaging tax hikes.
Don’t you just want to smack that smiking face?
Next bring it down to the personal level. The dems want to bailout people who bought houses that they couldn't afford then stick you, the hard-working, bill-paying taxpayer with more debt, even though you do the right thing. The dems give your hard earned money to people who make bad decisions, such as dropping out of school, doing drugs, having kids before marriage. And the working stiff has to pay for it. When questioned about it, they attack you for being greedy. It is not greedy to want to keep what you earned; it is greedy to expect other people to give you their money.
It's time the republicans got over the fear of being called racist, and start pointing out what everyone knows. Dems reward failure and bad decisions and punish honesty and hard work.
Yep, the worst is on its way—he will find more ways to tax us than any of us have ever imagined.

Someone - please make a tableau tape of Reagan’s enthusiastic, POSITIVE quotes so we can listen to those instead of to the depressing sound bytes of Hussein.
I guess all those ratings Congress had between a 9 - 16 approval rating were for the Republicans who were no longer in charge.
The press will hammer that the economy is in shambles. The press also has the ability to put a positive spin in for Obama and make a nice story.
