LA-2 , Orleans, Jefferson Parish: In a huge upset win, little known Republican attorney Anh "Joseph" Cao beat nine term and criminally indicted William Jefferson(D). Jefferson had been expected to easily win. Cao becomes the first Vietnamese member of U.S. Congress. LA-4, Shreveport-Bossier City, Sabine Parish, et. al., Western LA, TX/AR border: Republican Dr. John Fleming wins. Fleming was trailing by about 3% early in the election results but came on strong in the end to beat Carmouche(D) by 356 votes. Carmouche has not conceded election – recount probably pending. With these results, the 111th U.S. House of Representatives currently stands at 255 Democrats, 178 Republicans, and two elections still officially pending = VA-5: Perriello(D) wins, Goode(R) filed recount - will take 2-4 weeks. OH-15: Provisional ballots Ohio Supreme Court challenge. - FlA

>> They let that FAG Lindsey Graham in SC get elected again. <<

Better to have "fag" Lindsey Graham in that seat that Islamofacist sympathizer Bob Conley. Unless you're one of those Ron Paulites who believe surrender in Iraq is the "true conservative" viewpoint.

It also depends upon what part of the country that people are talking about. It’s very difficult for conservatives to win in most major U.S. cities, in the northeastern states, and in much of the west coast states. In many of these areas that I have mentioned, the final choices, at most political levels, are usually between a Democrat and a RINO. RINOs are usually better than Democrats, unless the Democratic candidate happens to really be more conservative than the RINO. In the 1990 Massachusetts election, the Governor’s race was between RINO Bill Weld and conservative Democrat John Silber, and one of many reasons why Weld won is because Weld is “more leftist” on most issues compared to Silber. Silber also had problems with proving to the majority of Massachusetts voters that he really had the temperament for the job of Governor, and Silber’s “Silber Shockers” harmed his chances of successfully defeating Weld.

Louisiana voters have now elected the first people of Vietnamese and Indian descent to major elected office in the U.S.

How ironic it is that the reputedly racist coon-@sses from Louisiana are the first in the nation to elect 2 distinct Asian ethnic groups to Congress. And elected from the reputedly racist political party to boot.

I can't wait until the vermin in the msm acknowledge this.

Crickets chirping...

I don’t care if a person is hetero, homo, inbetween, or asexual.......frankly, I don’t want to know too much.....just do your job and represent your constituency in an honest way, and nothing else matters...

A couple of hours ago, Jefferson was announced the winner on the radio; this is much better news!

For a totally biased downplay of the first Vietnamese-American to become a U.S. Representative, http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2008/12/stephanie_grace_story_is_loser.html

The author is the loser in that story.

Some of these "conservatives" obsessed with sexual orientation are sounding like the gay rights lobby the way they constantly accuse every prominent celebrity on the planet of being a closet homosexual. Ronald Reagan wrote a pink tie once -- the guy must have been a homo, I tell ya!!

Apparently the big thing on FR now is that Charlie Crist is "secretly gay". Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle (also a RINO) has been subject to lesbian rumors for years... but they're too busy rant and raving and Crist to notice.

Congrats to Mr. Cao, however Republicans should realize that this is a one-termer, no doubt about it. Similar to Nick Lampson in TX-22, there is no way that a GOP congressman can hang on to this seat. In 2010, it will go back to the Dems. However, this is not to take away the great accomplishment of Cao. Congrats to the new Rep congressman from LA-02. It will be nice to have him for 1.5 years, I guess.

John Fleming should hold this for as long as he wants. Screw you Carmouche. He’ll probably sue and ask for recount after recount after recount until he wins. Get f**ked d-bag. You lost!!

There were 100 District 2 precincts in Jefferson Parish. Cao's 4597 vote margin of victory in those 100 precincts overcame his loss by 2771 in 392 precincts in Orleans Parish.

What does that say about Jefferson Parish?
