Take it to the bank.
Many people who turned out for Obama were unwilling to do the same for an old white dude.
Something very satisfying here, seeing the dims routed when our backs were to the wall. And — I’m also glad to see Sarah’s backing contribute to the win.
Once you factor in Specter, the 2 from Maine, and a few others, we dont really have a solid 40 anyway. I cant see McConnell maintaining too many filibusters even with Norm and Saxby back in the fold.Better a few filibusters fail than all of them.
“If these numbers hold up, then this run-off will be such an @ss-whipping that I cant imagine why Chambliss didnt get 50% the first time around.”
It helped this time not to have a third-party candidate in the mix, too.
God Bless Georgia, and God bless Saxby Chambliss!!
Still a lot of votes out in Fulton and Dekalb counties, but I think Saxby has a strong enough lead to cover, as all of the votes are not in from Cobb and Gwinnett counties.
GA SOS site has 81% of precincts reporting/
I predict the final numbers to be 56% to 44%.
“I cant imagine why Chambliss didnt get 50% the first time around.”
My guess is the original return had a big Obama coat-tail effect.
haha...yeah, but I figure the senate has been a joke for sometime.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The list of senators who are sick jokes would be much longer than the list of respectable public servants.

Nov. 4th Chambliss got 49.8%. A Libertarian got 3% and kept him from winning outright.
“Preview of 2012? If so, Sarah 1, Obama 0.”
I don’t mean to be a spoilsport, but you could argue that ‘08 was the first preview of ‘12. Then again, Palin won’t have McCain (we hope) to dampen people’s spirits in ‘12.
From your keyboard to God's ears!!
A big “thank you” to the people of Georgia for making a stand for America. Certainly Chambliss isn’t my idea of a rock-solid conservative, but like Coleman, we need him in there.
You nailed it.
That rooster is a hen, and a darn good one!
You can bet the Dem Progues noticed.
Watch for renewed media assassination attempts.
Palin is beloved by America and there's not a thing the Lefties can do to stop it.
And the golden egg has just been laid. All it has to do is hatch!
The Georgia race was much closer as well with the early voting and absentee ballots. It was so close they had to have a runoff. I just wonder how Coleman would do with another election. My money says that he too would come out way ahead.
“Hillarys out of the Senate (whatever her effective date is), Obamas out of the Senate”
I’m sure they’ll be replaced with liberals. Plus, Obama was pretty much a nonentity while there, anyway. But if you go for the ceremonial thing of big names leaving, add Biden to the list.
The buyer’s remorse over Obama and the dimocrats is setting in.
Maybe they thought the run-off was next November.
“From your keyboard to God’s ears!!”
Or Chambliss’ ears, to cut out the middleman.
