The quote from Sebastian D'Souza, the photographer and picture editor for the Mumbai Mirror who snapped a photo seen around the world of one of the terrorists in India last week, said it all: "I only wish I had a gun, not a camera."
One can only imagine that a photojournalist saying he wished he had a gun instead of a camera makes the sphincters of many "journalists" and other assorted forever-neutral members of the Fifth Estate slam closed faster than the shutter on D'Souza's camera, but an important point is made: Unless we as citizens are able to defend ourselves on a massive yet individual basis, we will never be able to stop a massive attack by crazed individuals. Waiting for police or the Army to show up with mops and buckets is an unacceptable strategy in fighting terrorists.
One thing is certain: Mass terrorist slaughters like the one in Mumbai could happen in the United States. That something similar and on such a grand scale hasn't happened yet isn't for lack of trying on the part of terrorists. As many mass shootings in the U.S. have demonstrated to us (and unfortunately to terrorists as well), our citizens are horrendously unprepared and untrained for a terrorist attack like the one in India last week. And by "trained," I mean more than just to dial 9-1-1 and eke out a prayer before being shot.
But what steps will the U.S. government take to ensure the safety of the general population in coming days in light of recent events? Probably to somehow regulate "Black Friday" to see to it that nobody else gets trampled to death at Wal-Mart.
The measures that need to be taken to prevent a Mumbai-style terrorist attack in the United States will not be taken at the...

I enjoy the quip, "I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop." Even if you could carry those cops, they were useless.
Isn't that an 'alleged' terrorist carrying that gun?
Looks like a rumpled umbrella.
Or....
The Pastor who told the Texas Ranger ....I carry a 45 Auto because they don’t make a 50.....well they do now !

No, that’s clearly an “alleged” militant.
What a difference from the American news media, who think no one should be armed.
Applied locally. We live in the country, out side the city limits, thus in the County jurisdiction for law enforcement. My cousin, who grew up in the same house as I did, thus is like a brother, is the county sheriff. He told me it would be TWENTY MINUTES on average for a deputy to get too us in an emergency!!!!!!!!! Unless, by luck one was just down the road at the time we called. THUS, we are armed and will defend ourselves.
He should carry one, too.
I think I’d prefer a .45 WinMag. You can get .45 pills so much more cheaply to load them up...
L
Nice, but a little pricey ($2,895!).
Well I took this afternoon off to go pick up my Glock slide assembly in 50GI with 5 spare mags. I already have the GI version of the 1911A1 in 50GI, the model 1. I love the 1911A1 version and will use the slide assembly on my Glock 21 frame.
I have the dies and lots of brass and gang molds for rollin my own. I like the caliber. Uses same bullet in 50AE or 500’s so I get plenty of mileage from my 1911A1 in 50GI and I will see how the “Glock” bastardized version functions !
8+1 magazines for the glock w/ 9+1 if ya want to glue on the plus 2 extended bases on the mags. On the 20 and 21 you better glue on the extended base pads or else. I do not use em myself.
Stay safe and good shooting !
An attack like that is an atrocity, something which sould be resisted vigorously. The citizen's ability to resist is the socialist's worst nightmare. For some reason people continue to vote for them.
Yes..... that was MSRP for their 1911A1... Model 1. I paid 1900 for mine. The Glock slide assembly is 600$ in 50GI.
That terrorist attack is exactly what a citizen militia would be equipped to handle.
I long for the old original 44 auto mag......:o)
Smooth little plinker !
Desert Eagle version ain’t bad just dang big !
check freepmail....
One is assured that this same thought crossed the Minds of the Framers of the Constitution. . . “if only I had a Gun”.
When Universities put up signs on Campus saying “Gun free zone” and the Media Spikes News stories of Private citizens using Guns to stop Crimes (car jacking Edinburg, Tx.) . . Its an invitation for Terror for one state, and a “Keep Out” sign for another state.
When Terror Hits your city, Do you really want to live in a Gun Free Zone ?
