Former President Bill Clinton has agreed to make public the names of more than 200,000 donors to his foundation as part of a deal with President-elect Barack Obama to clear the way for Sen. Hillary Clinton to become secretary of state, The New York Times reported on Sunday.

Citing Democrats close to Clinton and Obama, the newspaper reported Clinton had decided to publish his contributor list to avoid an appearance of conflict of interest with his wife's duties as secretary of state.

...

The contributors' list is one of nine conditions that Clinton agreed to in his discussions with Obama's representatives, the newspaper reported.

If Juan McCain didn’t pick Sarah there will be a firestorm.

You're welcome, b! :)

Barry's either the world's biggest boob or catspaw. I can't decide which.

McCain doesn't get to pick anyone. Article XII of the constitution says there are two ballots. One for president and one for VP. Biden won the VP and he's a natural born citizen, in country for 14 years and over 35 years of age (at least physically) so he's the VP. If this thing drags out in SCOTUS, Biden will serve as Acting President until the matter is decided. McCain is the highest vote getter after Barry so, one assumes, he gets the presidency if Barry can't prove he is a citizen. Palin is out at this point. She can run against whomever in 2012.

Please re-read the Constitution and thanks for the post.

If they appoint a special reelection between now and January 20th and it’s not over before then who is President in the meantime? Does Bush remain in office? OR WORST CASE SCENARIO PRESIDENT PELOSI?

Highly unlikely that we are having a run-off. Article XII (that's 120 of the Constitution says that Biden is Acting President until SCOTUS can straighten this out. Either Barry is a natural born citizen and qualifies to serve or he's not. If he's not, McCain was the next highest vote getter so he's it. There is no provision for special election.

BUT... the electors (all Democratic Party hacks) COULD just elect Hillary because Barry is becoming way too controversial. Then its Hillary as President and Biden as VP.

It all depends on who SCOTUS says has the duty to confirm Barry's qualifications. If its Cheney (President of the Senate per Constitution) then its McCain as runner up (kind of like the Miss America thing) if SCOTUS leaves it up to the state electors, they either thumb nose at the Constitution and vote for Barry (triggering a huge Constitutional crisis) or they suddenly and quite unexpectedly, grow some nads and vote for Hillary (she has the grass roots strength to pull this off and her people are mostly in place anyway).

Should be an interesting week!

Otherwise... why, why, why would Hillery give up HER safe senate seat to work for a most incompetent president? There is something cooking here, folks...

Cooking? Maybe baking cookies of the dirtiest kind...!

Luckily, there are no names on that list corresponding to people he pardoned on the way out the door. /sarc

Please pass on this video. A confidential witness says that he was doing business with Denise Rich and the Clintons in 2000. He was in his office when Denise told him that Marc Rich had established a $250 mil fund to get the pardon he wanted. How much did Bill really get?

What is “Begging the Question?”

“Begging the question” is a form of logical fallacy in which a statement or claim is assumed to be true without evidence other than the statement or claim itself. When one begs the question, the initial assumption of a statement is treated as already proven without any logic to show why the statement is true in the first place.

A simple example would be “I think he is unattractive because he is ugly.” The adjective “ugly” does not explain why the subject is “unattractive” — they virtually amount to the same subjective meaning, and the proof is merely a restatement of the premise. The sentence has begged the question.

Look at Colin Powell. He wasn´t tarnished by Bush. Sure, he has tarnished himself by being an idiot, but he has succesfully distanced himself from the administration in most people´s mind.

I think she wants to be in a position of power, and this is the best she can do at the moment.
