Former President Bill Clinton has agreed to make public the names of more than 200,000 donors to his foundation as part of a deal with President-elect Barack Obama to clear the way for Sen. Hillary Clinton to become secretary of state, The New York Times reported on Sunday.
Citing Democrats close to Clinton and Obama, the newspaper reported Clinton had decided to publish his contributor list to avoid an appearance of conflict of interest with his wife's duties as secretary of state.
...
The contributors' list is one of nine conditions that Clinton agreed to in his discussions with Obama's representatives, the newspaper reported.

Call me unimpressed.
Unless.... the Biden Administration is taking shape. Hillary gets S of S lined up. OBama is declared ineligible to serve. Either Biden or (constitutionally) McCain is president and Hillary gets VP to keep the Democrats from doing a Jimmy Jones. Then... McCain is a one termer or Biden agrees to step down because he's still stunned that Obama actually won and he lost his safe senate seat.
And... Hillery becomes the first woman president and checkmates Palin.
Otherwise... why, why, why would Hillery give up HER safe senate seat to work for a most incompetent president? There is something cooking here, folks...
hey Barry.. Barry! how about you show us your birth certificate? If you’re going to be President of the USA, we need to make sure you are a natural born American.
I don’t understand your take on this at all?
Last week or so, Rush said he was wondering the same until he realized that the State Department is one of the best places from which to undermine the president.
Clinton didn’t have to release his donor list when his wife ran for the Senate and even for the presidency, but he has to in order for her to be Secretary of State?
“why, why, why would Hillery give up HER safe senate seat to work for a most incompetent president? “
why? Simple. She actually wants to DO something more interesting than push for Woodstock museums. The whole point of getting elected to Senate was that she could be the first woman president.
She has accepted that will never happen (Obama will surely get the Dem nomination in 4 years just like Carter in 1980) so might as well take what you can get.
She’s padding her resume. Man, could you imagine 8 years of Barry follwed by 8 years of Hillary?! Freakin Nightmare.
The Obamanators just wanted to get ahold of all of those names for their own future fundraising!
she’d be almost 70, 8 years from now. She lost her chance.
But... if the SCOTUS declares Barry ineligible due to the Natural Born Citizen issue, then McCain is President. This will set off an obvious fire storm. The Democratic Senate will have to approve any VP selection (remember when Nixon selected Ford after Agnew resigned?). The Senate will only approve a Democrat because the won the popular vote. This situation has happened in the past where we had a president from one party and a VP from the other so its no constitutional issue.
Hillary is now positioned to be S of S (fourth in line) but she can't get that appointment until Barry is sworn in. That won't happen so McCain is forced to select Hillary. McCain won't pick Pelosi or Ried because CLintons have it worked out with McCain. Only Hillary can keep the Democrats from exploding. Biden gets to keep his safe senate seat (whew, hey Joe?)
mCain is a one termer because of his age. Hillery gets the White House in 2012 Palin is toast here. They knew about Barry's situation before the election. I think that's why McCain's people started to push Palin away right after the election. All is fair in love and war.
So... its McCain/Hillery and McCain has always been very accommodating to Hillary so this Grand Coalition is the best thing the establishment can do to ward of the expected civil commotion. Most of Hillery's people are in place. Sec. Gage will work well with McCain and Hillery will be very active in international issues, as will McCain.
Bush and everyone else has been super accommodating to Barry so as not to look like conspirators. But, they all know he's getting the boot.
Michelle is invisible. I think she knows what's coming down and she's withdrawing. The MSM is now starting to write about the birth certificate issue. Ready to blame the right wing kooks if Barry is booted.
It is all starting to make sense. Pay attention on December 5th.
And to be fair, I'm not that thrilled about McCain but that in itself is another issue entirely.
holy crap, batman. that makes sense.
This is a great theory and it really ties up the loose ends.
However, it begs the question as to why the DNC would promote a Presidential candidate they knew from the beginning was Constitutionally ineligible.

While many Democrats hope that Obama will reassure them once he gets into office, Jodie Evans, a well-known activist, told the Politico website last week that the president-elect was already violating the peoples mandate. Nor have Democrats been encouraged by Republican applause for the president-elects appointments. Max Boot, a foreign policy adviser to Senator John McCain, said last week he had previously been sceptical of Obamas moderate posturing, but had been gob-smacked by an Obama team that was stunning in its moderation. Boot added: Most of these appointments could just as easily have come from a President McCain. (emphasis mine)
Joseph Lieberman, the conservative Democrat from Connecticut who infuriated his party colleagues by sharply criticising Obama and supporting McCain for president, last week apologised and declared that Obamas actions had been just about perfect.
Most dispiriting of all for devotees of Obamas mantra of change was a qualified thumbs up from Karl Rove, the Machiavellian mastermind behind Bushs election victories. Rove declared that Obamas economic team was reassuring, and that he has generally surrounded himself with intelligent mainstream advisers. One Democratic strategist noted, not entirely facetiously: If Rove likes us, we must be in trouble.

I think the DNC planned for Hitlery, just as the RNC planned for McCain. They may have intended Barry to be the VP or just a shining example of left wing diversity.
His eligibility in either case would be of less interest. Once in place as VP he'd be immune.
Once in place in any secretarial slot, they'd have eight years to work up an amendment to make it possible (it was discussed regarding Kissinger and again regarding Schwarzenegger (sic?).
Barry was made in the caucus states where his ground troops could mass and overwhelm the machine; after that it was all momentum. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that it came as a shock to the powers that be (were).
I won't be a bit surprised to see Barry-O ravaged by his own party over the next four years - but I don't think anyone planned it that way.
Until the list is actually released, discussing who might be on it would be nearly baseless speculation. Having said that, I’m disappointed I haven’t seen more baseless speculation as to who might be on the list. ;)
Although we probably won’t see something as dramatic as an entry from Mullah Omar, I’m sure there are donors who naively thought that Bill Clinton’s guarantee that their identities would not be revealed wouldn’t be voided by political expediency.
I wonder if he can withhold a name if he refunds a contribution.
“shed be almost 70, 8 years from now. She lost her chance.”
How old was McCain when he ran this time around?
Difference is to the MSM, in 8 years being old won’t be an issue. She will be a sasoned veteran with Foreign Policy experience.
Bank on it.
April....you’re having a DREAM!! Wake up! NO ONE...NONE...NADA....not the Supremes... not ANYONE is going to disqualify Obama....he’s a BLACK man and cities would burn and people would be KILLED.
