I am going to give him a pass, too. It was a bad way to say it but I can understand his point. The targets were not Indians and, unfortunately ,they got caught up in it. It was the British and the Americans that were suppose to pay the price for being infidels or whatever their excuse is for killing us.
LOL: thanks, though I have a sneaking suspicion I wouldn’t last very long there.
I agree with you. What he wanted to avoid saying was, thank God no Americans were killed. Which is something I was thinking, admittedly. In the current political climate, had he expressed than sentiment, his career might well be over. OTOH, this will blow over in no time.
But again, would he have been less sad if more Americans and fewer Indians have been hit? That does seem his implication.
I really don’t think he meant it that way...However, I had to rethink what I wrote because Indians may have been a target, too, since Pakistan was reportedly involved in this .
My God, it’s like he’s saying sadly they missed the damned Americans and hit the poor Indians.
I don't see it that way. I am concerned he will do way too much in retaliation. The man voted against bills to give aid to dying babies who survive an abortion! His regard for human life is questionable. His narcissism knows no bounds. I wish we could predict his response. When other nations know that our response will be strong, effective, but measured, that promotes world peace. However, with Bambi (I felt the same about Gore) a minor event could spiral into an all out nuclear exchange.
Pretty much. Maybe Harry can arrange for the mujahadeen to be trained in marksmanship by Western forces.
He probably thrown in the ‘sadly’ because he didn’t want to give the impression that he was happy that it was Indians instead.
I'm starting to here this phrase more and more. Yesterday or the day before I forget which, on ESPN they were interviewing the FSU football player who missed half the game Saturday to be interviewed for a Rhodes scholarship. He was asked what he wanted to do with his life. He said play in the NFL, go to Oxford and get his education, be a doctor. Go to those horrible places on the planet that needed doctors. "TO BE A CITIZEN OF THE WORLD." This is the NEW liberal/leftist/communist/socialist title. No longer a citizen of the United States of America. Rather, an Obama Citizen of the World.
When they, as they were perpetrating their attacks in the beginning, they were clearly, they said, were looking for British citizens, were looking for American citizens. Sadly, so many of the people were killed were Indians.
No surprise from the network that copyrighted the phrase “Fake but Accurate.”
It was stupid of him.
In my opinion he should have simply stated the facts and not try to put a coloration of his own upon it.
Suppose he had simply said that witnesses reported the terrorists were checking passports trying to find British and American citizens to attack. According to Indian sources, however, the by far largest number of victims were Indian.
I believe a competent journalist would have approached it that way.
Sure he’s a flaming lib just like they all are.
However, I doubt he wanted to wish that Americans had died instead of Indians. But he likely feared that unless he added “sadly” his words could be taken as relief that Indians, not Americans, were killed.
He strayed off the path of good journalism and suffered the consequences.
I haven't seen anything definitively proving this, although there's been a lot of speculation.
Do you have a link to anything solid?
The alternative has always bothered me.
Some plane crashes in S. America and the media says, "174 people killed, three of them Americans."
It's almost like saying "three real people."
Of course it is about censorship, something liberals hate when it comes to porn or similar material.
“Incredible as it is, SIMI was founded by an Illinois professor...”
Unfortunately, nothing incredible about it.
Smith should be comforted now to learn that two Americans from Virginia have been killed. Maybe more to come.
