A new wrinkle is surfacing today in the recount battle in Minnesota between incumbent U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman and challenger Al Franken -- missing ballots.
The Franken campaign today said that it has learned of missing ballots totaling several hundred in various counties. Franken recount attorney Marc Elias said he's also bothered that counties that know they have missing ballots aren't bothering to look for them.
Elias declined to identify those counties but acknowledged that the Franken campaign is monitoring reports of several dozen missing ballots in Becker County.
Officials can determine they have missing ballots whenever they come up with fewer paper ballots than what the electronic Election Night vote total was for the U.S. Senate race.
In Crystal, officials there say they have found eight absentee ballots, still sealed in their security envelopes, that had not been counted on Nov. 4. The ballots, which were subsequently included in the city's recount, increased Democrat Franken's total by seven votes and Republican Coleman's by one. The envelopes were discovered Friday night among opened envelopes, a city spokeswoman said.

The only counted votes are Franken.
Coleman votes don’t count.

Oh crap! Ya know what, I think I have 5000 Franken ballots in my garage!
“If they are missing, how do they know that they are Frankens?........”
Because when they “find” them, they are always marked that way. Duh!
Yeah, funny how that is ALWAYS the case........
The Broward County (FL) Supervisor of Elections Office has some too!..............
Who says you can’t prove a negative?
First question to be answered, is "how do they know they are missing?"
Would those be the mysterious 100s of votes that were "accidentally" forgotten to be added into the total on election night but were added in the next day??? Sounds like they were too stupid too fabricate the paper ballots to go along with their "forgotten" votes.
As of two hours ago Coleman was ahead by 210. The DemonRats will do whatever it takes to win.

I ran a polling place here in Indiana - and while it was not a large polling place, less than 1000 voters - the process was relatively smooth.
I had to turn away three people - two were purged from voter rolls for not having voted in quite some time - and one did not bring picture ID (which thankfully is the law here).
We (3 Republicans/2 Democrats) took "readings" at fairly regular intervals to ensure that all our numbers matched. (I had the voter list & was checking ID, one from each party had a poll book to be signed by the voter, and one judge from each party set up the machines for the voters.)
On the few times we had discprepancies - they were mere counting errors - and at the end of the night when we printed out our totals - all of our numbers matched. (We were running three machines in our precinct.)
Our county uses electronic voting/balloting - and we (both parties at the same time) had to verify there were ZERO ballots recorded before beginning.
I cant believe that there are some parts of this country that are using voting methods that are so archaic and susceptible to abuse... or that the people having to vote this way are not up in arms about it.
I dont mind losing in a fair fight (well, I dont like it but I can deal with it) - but it absolutely burns me that vote fraud IN ANY FASHION is allowed.
Voter Fraud should be a 10-year minimum sentence. (Although I would prefer the death penalty... its time to make a point.)

Aren't bothering to fabricate them.....
You know that is a lie. They probably don’t have them completely made up yet.
Gee maybe some ACORN-generated ballots have gone....missing
Just like what cockroaches do when a light shines on them
We will have the obligatory four days of screaming about the “missing” ballots before the fabricated ballots can be trotted out as the “found” ballots that had been “surpressed.”
“Itd be worth it to Minn. taxpayers to pay for a runnoff, just to shut Al up.”
Actually, I can’t imagine anything better for the Republican party than to have Al Franken up in the Senate mouthing off as much as possible!
But if they have "more", then what?.............
About Al Freakin on the floor:
Yea, true that. I may start watching CSpan again if he’ll foam, except he gets to vote too.
And I bet those missing ballots favor Franken and will be sure to be found. What a surprise!
obama stole the election, with help from a lot of people, and "everybody just sits there."
Election fraud has become so common place that it doesn't raise an eyebrow any more. Mostly because the party of stupid did not insist on prosecutions years ago.
