Obama Wants Rescue Plan 'Right Away' (Crisis, Where is the happy-hope talk now??)
AOL news ^ | CHICAGO (Nov. 24) | BETH FOUHY, AP

CHICAGO (Nov. 24) - With the economy in crisis, President-elect Barack Obama urged the new Congress to pass a quick economic stimulus bill, pledged help for the troubled auto industry and blessed the Bush administration's bailout of the financial industry. Even so, he conceded, "The economy is likely to get worse before it gets better," a downbeat forecast, delivered 57 days before he takes the oath of office and as Americans headed into the year-end holiday season. Barring swift action, "most experts now believe that we could lose millions of jobs next year," he said, urging the newly elected Congress to act "right away" on his plans after opening its session on Jan. 6. At a news conference, Obama was critical of the Big Three automakers, saying he was surprised they did not have a better-thought-out plan for their future before asking Congress to approve $25 billion in emergency loans. He said once he sees a plan, he expects "we're going to be able to shape a rescue."

Obama declined to say how large a stimulus package he wants from Congress. Democratic lawmakers speculated over the weekend that the price tag could reach $700 billion over two years as the nation struggles to emerge from a recession compounded by a credit crunch. "It's going to be costly," the president-elect said

Obama's principal theme was urgency. "We do not have a minute to waste," he said, citing the turmoil in the financial markets as well as the deterioration of the broader economy

His call for quick congressional action was welcomed by Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. "With the cooperation of our Republican colleagues, we intend to send a plan to the White House as soon as possible following President-elect Obama's inauguration," Reid said.

Presidente Obama announced a five year plan to develop the economy and advance the collective good for all peoples. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYAR3R6R7Ts "The Five-Year Plans for the National Economy of the USSR (Russian: пятилетка, Pyatiletka) were a series of nation-wide centralized exercises in rapid economic development in the Soviet Union. The plans were developed by the Gosplan based on the Theory of Productive Forces that was part of the general guidelines of the Communist Party for economic development. Fulfilling the plan became the watchword of Soviet bureaucracy." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five-Year_Plan_(USSR)

We are now going to “stimulus package” our way into hyperinflation.

The Obamamama years will make the 20 percent inflation of Jimmy Carter look like a economic boom.

Printing all that money with nothing to back it up will turn us into a new Zimbabwe. Hyperbole? Maybe a little but not by much.

RE our way into hyperinflation

Thats the sense I get that democrats plan on using current deflation for their 30 year dream list and will worry about politics of inflation later. Although I suspect they will pull the 1993 debt crisis to raise taxes and cut military spending 2010 or 2011, all GBW fault.

I don't want anyone to get hurt or take a fall but as for the 52% who voted for BHO, I won't lose any sleep when they lose their jobs as they are the ones who fell for the false one’s lies and deceit.

Yeah, obviously I should have put an “Oh, wait...” at the end of my post. lol

It just ticks me off to no end that this dolt is coming in proclaiming that this is a crisis of epic proportions (worst since the Great Depression, don’tcha know), but never fear, Mighty Rat is here to save the day. When of course, he and his cohorts had a huge part in creating the crisis in the first place.

I guess all I can do is laugh rather than cry.

I'm madder at the people responsible for this than I am at a big nut that fell off the old oak tree.

Like a pinata full of Obama's money...

They need being brought to the yardarm too though.

My comment has been edited, by myself, for unacceptable language. I watched this ShamObama on the t.v. this morning and was absolutely disgusted with him....again.

“Office of the President-Elect” symbol should have read, “Office of the President-Suspect”.

I noticed Obma was speaking from a podium today which was adorned with a sign which read: “Office of the President Elect”.

For some reason, it struck me as insipid.

Now that he's about to be POTUS, he really ought to lay off the childish gimmicks.

Low Tax Rates Grow the Economy, Stupid

Photobucket
The only hope of economic growth is that the economy is perceived as being so bad Øbama can't raise taxes as he plans to, his class warfare ideology and economic ignorance lend are too obvious pursuits of elected Democrats

“Unless your house is literally on fire, urgency is not an attribute of the external world—but it feels like it’s real. The psychopathic criminal element, including Obama, Immanuel, and company, knows this and uses it to their advantage.”

I agree—well stated.

His first order of business should be the full investigation, prosecution and dissolution of ACORN, which in large part contributed to this financial mess.

Second

First he needs to have his justice dept file charges against Barney Frank and all the other democrats that took bribes and fought tooth and nail to keep this economic crisis brewing for their own enrichment.

Oh thank God - I thought Obama won the election, but that's McCain's agenda. Thanks for waking me up - what a nightmare.

He can’t ,they put him in office and he helped orchestrate their moves.

That's assuming that democrats really care about fixing anything. It's reasonable to assume they think they have a once a lifetime opportunity to make a power grab similar to Roosevelt, based of people's desperation. My grandmother was a Roosevelt democrat that disliked Clinton but saw Roosevelt as a national hero that saved the people.

I am SURE democrats believe our lives would be better under their control, its the liberal religion. And unfortunately our GWB and others has left things in a state where people are terrified.
