Hannity and Colmes split up
Politico ^ | Michael Calderone

Fox News announced that after 12 years, Alan Colmes will be leaving the top-rated "Hannity & Colmes" at the end of the year. “I approached Bill Shine (FNC’s Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network," Colmes said in a statement. "Although it’s bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, I’m proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years.” Sean Hannity said Colmes was "a remarkable co-host," "great friend," and "skillful debate partner.” Colmes will remain a Fox commentator, and continue hosting "The Alan Colmes Show" on Fox News Radio. Also, he's developing a weekend show.

I can no longer listen to Hannity's radio show. It's always the same and is getting to be boring most of the time.

I agree, but I'm fed up with politics in general. Tonight at 9:00, I'll be watching 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' on TLC.

I’ve always thought that about Alan. The longer the show ran, the less sincere he sounded about the lib points he spewed. I thought he actually might come over from the dark side some day.

both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed

Yeah, only the audience was injured.

How about susan estrich.

No!!! If I want to hear that voice, I'll turn on a 60's Batman rerun with Burgess Meredith as the Penguin. They have the same voice, I swear.

I say Kirsten Powers is the likely choice, but I think the show would lose its combative nature. Reason: Unlike most liberals, Kirsten still possesses the capacity for rational thought. She has actually grown more conservative in some areas during her time at FOX...more than once I've blinked in surprise as she took the conservative point of view where Alan and other knee-jerk liberals would have speedily spat out talking points.

What about stealing a lib from PMSNBC, like Joe Scarborough?

Just no Susan Ostrich. Please!

I agree.

If I was casting the part I think Ellis Henican would be right at the top of my list. He camera friendly, well spoken, and not afraid to mix it up.

Forgot about Ellis. ..yes, that would be a good match; and that both he and Hanity are of the same gene ‘genre’; makes it a good backgound to play from. . .hmmm. . .wonder if he is in the ‘check box’ here.. .

Rush and Boortz are the only folks worth listening to. Prager is usually pretty good, but inconsistent.

“I’m fed up with politics in general”

Same here. Haven’t watched the news or talk shows since election night.

Colmes should join the rest of the liberal whackos at MSNBC!

New program at PMSNBC will feature Colmes, Leg Tingle and The Ober Fuhrer in a program each night too see who can kiss Obama's butt the most. At the end of the show, the Brown Nose Award will be given to the one who wins.

Does Colmes seriously think he'll be missed?

He was one of THE most annoying and irrationally partisan “pundits” on Fox.

Yeah, she’s Monica’s sister, but I wouldn’t bet she’d still be around if the Cryptkeeper lost his high-paying job.

I can no longer listen to Hannity's radio show.

While I like Hannity, he does good things and his heart is in the right place, I am beginning to think he gets paid by the 'you know'. "you know, you know, you know'.

No, I don't know, Sean. That's why I'm listening to your program.

Drives me crazy.

Heard Hannity say this on his radio show this afternoon , and I continue to glow with happiness 6 hours later.
I have grown to loathe the rude and stupid Mr. Colmes.
WHAT AN ASS HE IS!

"It's always the same and is getting to be boring most of the time."

I've never listened to Hannity's radio show, but your comments confirm my suspicion that he is as repetitive there as he is on TV. I told my husband that Hannity is like my grandmother's old soap operas. You can tune into All My Children once every 3 years and be caught up in 5 minutes. Every time I catch a minute or two of H&C, Hannity is talking over his guests, saying the same darn thing that he said months ago.

Well....it pains me to disagree with you. : )

And....although I don't watch Hannity much or listen to Hannity at all....I can certainly tell you that Hannity was maybe the "only" T.V. media entity that was showing/exposing Obama....before the election.

BTW...I am hunting my skinny butt off...and not seeing much to shoot. But I have 13 days to go!! Ha!!
