HARWICH, Mass. Harwich police have a musical mystery on their hands: Who left a piano in the middle of the woods? And why?
The Baldwin piano discovered in the Bells Neck woods appears to be in perfect working condition and had a matching bench as if it had recently been played.
The piano was discovered Saturday by a woman walking along a path inside a conservation area at the woods.
Another question police would like to answer is how the piano got to such a remote location. The piano is heavy and it took more than a half dozen men to load it onto a truck to remove it.

I saw it too! Lillian Gish was playing “Turkey in the Straw” on it!
I had a dream about this about a week ago...and I live in Mississippi.
“I want to know who left the French Horn in the Missouri woods.
And what about that Bassoon abandoned in the Oklahoma wilds?”
The phantom of the opera is running out of ideas.
Neidermeyer .... dead!
One morning I was walking my dogs on the country road near my place in the north Louisiana woods. We reached the little rise from which I enjoyed looking across the hills for 5 or 6 miles. Right in the middle of my favorite view was a refrigerator, standing upright. For some strange reason I was reminded of the apes and the monolith in “2001, a Space Odyssey”. I moved in for a closer look and found a tag with a name and phone number hanging on the back, and passed the information on to a friend who owned the land, suggesting that he give it to the sheriff’s department (dumping is illegal). A few days later the refrigerator had disappeared and I had my view back.
Vladmir Forowitz?
Sounds like an elaborate practical joke to me.
Nobody seems to care about the harmonica found on the steppe of North Dakota.
Who was that man? I’d like to shake his hand. He made my baby fall in love with me.
Methinks Massachusetts men need some more testosterone. (But we know that from the last election results, don't we?)
Brian Wilson couldn’t move it all the way to the beach.
Sounds like someone maybe couldn’t find anyone to buy it, and didn’t want to pay the ‘dump fee’.
I can thin of several reasons.
SOmeone wanted to proposed to their swwetie.
It was used in filming an ad/movie scene.
In either case, tt cost more to remove the piano (union labor!) than the piano is worth.
Hope the cops donate it to a local school or civic orgniation that could use it.
Until the rental company shows up looking for it.
better than finding a organ out there
Someone filming a video.
That was a GOOD movie!
