My favorite Thanksgiving recipe .... hmmm, let's see ...

2 oz Sauza Hornitos Repasado Tequilla
1 oz Grand Marnier
3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice.

Shake, strain over rocks ... with or without salt.

This is a time honored method to moist and delicious dressing. Any of you out there making dressing; be sure to make it as soupy like as possible before you place in the oven. This will guarantee that the dressing will be moist and not dry.

Hold the Marnier, hold the lime juice. Forget the salt, I’m on a low salt diet.............

My all-time favorite Thanksgiving recipe:

Be nice to ALL of your neighbors. One of them is bound to invite you over for a free Thanksgiving dinner.

No cooking. No cleaning up afterwards.

Works for Christmas dinner, too. ;-)

My Mother was born in 1899 in S/W Texas. This recipe was from her German born Mother...

LEONA’S SOUR CREAM APPPLE PIE From the Way Back Machine

2 table spoons Flour
1/8 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 cup Sour Cream
1 teaspoon Vanilla
4 cups finely chopped Apples

Sift flour, salt and sugar together. Add slightly beaten Egg,
Sour Cream and Flour. Beat until smooth, add Apples.
Pour mix into 9 inch pastry lined shell. Bake in 425 hot over for 15 minutes, reduce to 350 and bake 30 minutes more.Remove from oven and add topping. Reset oven to 400 degrees.

Prepare topping while filling is baking.

1/3 cup Sugar, 1/3 cup Flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 cup butter or margarine.

Blend together sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter. sprinkle crumbs over pie. Return to oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.

My First Wife says Golden Delicious apples are best.

I can not guarantee the accuracy of this missive

allmendream.... of Pecan Pie.

Recipe is on the back of a Karo Syrup bottle. Make the Karo syrup goo as instructed, but add twice as many pecans and make the goo they say is for one pie go into TWO pies. Yes, the recipe calls for TWO pies (making it twice as good as a recipe that only calls for one pie).

If you want to get FANCY, use half Karo light syrup and half dark, and add a half shot of Kahlua or Rum.

I am forever grateful!

I have been looking everywhere fo a real homemade mac & Cheese recipe. This one sounds like the one my mom used to make. I’m not sure if she used the curry, but I will.

Try making a pecan pie with HONEY instead of Karo syrup. It’s absolutely delicious!..............

Note: I hate carrots, won’t touch them with a ten foot asparagus, but I LOVE this recipe as does every one I make it for. It’s my most asked for recipe.

COPPER CARROTS

2 lb Carrots cut into ½ inch slices
1 green pepper cut into long slices
1 red onion cut into rings
1 small can Tomato Soup
1 cup Salad Oil
1 cup Sugar
1/3 cup white Vinegar
1 Tsp Dry Mustard
Salt & pepper to taste

Boil carrots until tender, drain and cool. Then combine in a casserole dish with the green pepper and the onion slices.

Heat soup, oil, sugar, vinegar, and dry mustard until hot and sugar is completely dissolved. Make sure you stir while it cooks to mix ingredients.. Then, Poor this mixture over the carrots. Mix and then cover and refrigerate overnight*. *Best made a day or two ahead.

Serve - Can be served warmed-up or left cool, your choice.

I saw a TV spot where SPAM is running 2-3 shifts making SPAM. They can’t make enough of it right now. It’s $2.32 at the local Wal Mart near where I live. We’ll just save all the ‘Treet’ for the Democrats when they finally figure out “O” ain’t gonna give them $hit.

You can just do your Turkey regular then the last hour or so wrap it in bacon.

I guess because of budgets, fear of the economy, and the fact that it stores very well for long periods. The upswing in SPAM sales is true, just as in the case of gun and ammo sales. As a former eater of C rations, I can heartily say that I like SPAM and have always eaten it. In WWII, K-rations, used to contain SPAM......
