Businesses cut prices at a record rate, and builders started fewer new homes last month than anytime on record, according to new government data, as the outlook for the economy continues to dim.

The data helped spur another terrible day for the stock market Wednesday, as did a projection of more hard times ahead by leaders of the Federal Reserve. A serious recession now appears all but assured.

I have always been aware of the great number of “yellow dog” democrats, I listen to them every day complaining about welfare, illegal immigration, racial quotas, etc and then without any thought go and vote the straight democrat ticket. I now am aware that we also have some “yellow dog” republicans. They would vote for a republican if his philosophy mirrored either Stalin or Hitler, the underlying philosophy of the candidate is totally non germane to these people. It is pathetic that there are so many in that category in the GOP party.

Buy buy... Avis stock was $39 a share 4 years ago. Now it is at .39 cents a share. How can you go wrong buying? More people will need to rent cars now that they will not be able to afford. A car Shift towards more zip temporary cars.

Tell them to lower their rates, in line with millions that have watched their incomes dropped, and maybe they get some biz.

I have had it with nutjobs that rant and rave then use vile language here when they lost an argument !

There is a difference in making a statement of fact and in making an argument. One is undeniable. In this, and in your case, dragnet2 said to pull your head out of your ass. I think he is correct, but I think it is impossible, since it has apparently been pulled through from the other side.

Also, and this is hugh and series, during the great depression there was Prohibition, which is why you can’t compare it with today! We have plenty of alcohol to tax now and people are only going to increase drinking.

They will have to lower the rates and innovate to prosper and survive, even under Obama. More illegals will qualify to rent cars because they will be able to get licenses without birth certificates!!

Deep recession indeed - In early 2006 the government entered into contract with KBR (Halliburton) io construct mass detention centers under the guise of illegal uprisings. Civil unrest from the loss of jobs, food, healthcare, social services, etc. gives pause for us all to get behind good government with prayers and a renewed sense of direction.

Absolutely. The only way to get the solicalist legislation through is to ram it in. You ram it by making sure the economy is perceived to be on the brink of disaster/Thank you MSM. That’s when you buy. The buying will hurt the socialist plan so pick a stock and buy something at a bargain price. What, are you waiting to be taxed out of that decision?

.

Hate to say it, but we might be needing something like the Civilian Conservation Corps soon.

Well, I might just go get me an illegal alien and send him to do my CCC work. I'll give him a buck an hour or so and keep the rest. It's the American way.

It has been, of course, more than this past administration. It goes way back, well before Goldwater or Ike or the socialist stooge FDR.

The last best chance this party had to begin to do something fundamental was 1994. In the years subsequent to the CWA, they accommodated and "played the game". Well, time's out, up and over with. 0bama and his freakish cultists have, pretty much, an open field.
