[history]
Businesses cut prices at a record rate, and builders started fewer new homes last month than anytime on record, according to new government data, as the outlook for the economy continues to dim.
The data helped spur another terrible day for the stock market Wednesday, as did a projection of more hard times ahead by leaders of the Federal Reserve. A serious recession now appears all but assured.

Have another glass of Obama media Cnion stop crisis kool aid .
This entire scam is exactly like the novel “ State of Fear “
So we have a econimic slow down.
Its not a depression like the Obama media is peddling.
The stock market is reacting to a Marxist named Soros taking over the US and investors are smartly moving there money to more stable overseas locations .
WE are out today and people are still shopping for Xmas and eating out and going out on Sat night .
So stop watching ONN and MSDNC !

“Is you new agenda to spread the economy phony crisis “
Man, you need to get out more. There is nothing phony about this economic crisis. You seem to be a fan of GWB, why don’t you listen to some of what he is saying. I don’t think he would agree with you that this crisis is phony. Nor would a large group of people who have seen their 401Ks and pensions decline by 40-50%. I will have to RIF at least 5 % of my force in the next weeks, and I know many others are doing the same.

'06 wasn't enough...They literally drove conservatives back into the hills.
Don't like the truth? Too damn bad.

You need to get a real perspective .
I travel for living.
The economy is not crashing just slowing down like predicted .
The stock market is jumpy because a Marxist was elected and people are moving their money overseas .
Stop buying into the State of fear media !

Yup.
The pubbies were little better than Democrat-Lite
And please do not get me wrong. I am violently opposed to some of his policies.
But the “Blame Obama for the meltdown” thing is kinda lame. It’s on par with blaming Obama for the DotCom bust.
Obama didn’t have enough influence or big enough nads to cause the bubble.

Believe me, I know. Every time I tried to point out the failings of GWB and how much he was straying from our values, I was assailed by half a dozen Bushbots, who were totally into Bush worship. Many people on Freerepublic seem to think this is simply a GOP website and have no conception of conservatism or conservative values.

Of course.
And where does that put us today?
Blind faith that the Republican party is capable of changing its direction is insane. Just as they were systemically incapable of enacting conservative policies while having a modicum of power and influence, with much less influence come January, those left will invariably compromise and capitulate.
We will be the hunted, so to speak. We'd better come to understand what that means.

I asked if the stock market would collapse.
It answered “DEFINITELY” (in caps).
I then asked if the stock market would soar.
It answered “Outlook Good”.
Hell, I thought I was on to something. :-)

I guess...Watching some of these morons trying to convince all that this carnage is the fault of whoever, is beyond those capable of critical thinking. Those attempting to isolate this administration for this national disaster are nothing but a bunch of twisted political freaks.
