CNN ^

The former business consultant and founder of Bain Capital handled economic issues during his campaign with an ease and confidence that seemed to elude Sen. John McCain. As the stock market tanked throughout the fall, a growing chorus of conservative pundits speculated Romney would have boosted the GOP ticket considerably more than Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin did.

He couldn’t win the primaries, so what makes anybody think he could win the general? The GOP needs to purge the RINOs. The only way to defeat and enemy is to destroy that enemy, not sympathize with them..........

"MSM picking candidates again"

Yep! Exactly! No Sale. I am going with Palin in 2012. She just won a major geopolitical economic war against Iran, Russia, and Qatar and their upcoming natural gas cartel with the Alaska Highway Pipeline natural gas initiative.

Romney has noting to compare to that. And Romney has that failed health care system he created as governor hanging around his little socialist neck... No thank you!

Great another thread at Free Republic where conservatives can slander and mock each other. Real productive Greyhound. This is just what we need to do, shower one another with bile.

I don’t think he ever had any intention of serving a second term. I suspect that his short stint in MA was meant to simply be a platform to enable his candidacy for president.

Competent conservatism is the way to go in order to appeal to the widest audience. THAT's the kind of change we can believe in. Obama appealed to so many because he appeared to be so calm, cool, collected and COMPETENT. With Romney, it's actually true.

Great article on competent conservatism:

I’ve never been a Romney fan anyway, but this little endorsement from the CNN section of the DNC just cinches it for me.

The MSM is going to spout this Romney crap for the next 4 years. And they will be attacking Sarah for the next 4 too.

That the MSM is throwing their support behing Romney is an indicator that the MSM things Romney is completely beatable by democrats (which he is) and that even if he won, he’s so liberal they probably wouldn’t care.

You astroturf phonies really are amusing. Romney enabled more liberalism than any Democrat ever would have during his tenure as governor of MA, but he should be president because he’s married with 84 children. What a bunch of nonsense.

Mitt puts Mitt first and really only thinks about Mitt. If he had any true values whatsoever, he wouldn’t change positions on issues like others change their socks.

Perhaps there is a dog-catcher race somewhere, so we can test out our theories about whether or not he could be elected to that position.

The “still too many RINO’s in it” GOP seriously needs to die, and they will, especially after more criminals are allowed to vote (helps leftist candidates more), more ways of cheating are done by leftists during every future election, and after illegal immigrants are also eventually legally allowed to vote in all future U.S. elections. Add to this that, on a worldwide level, more voters are getting “dumbed down” than ever before, the MSM keeps getting more politically biased and more pro-leftist everyday, political indoctrination continues from preschools to colleges all over the world, and a finite number of other pro-leftist entities are getting stronger everyday all over the world. The eventual creation of the Fairness Doctrine will help to gag all non-leftist info, while leftist judicial activism, at every judicial level, will seriously also help to make leftist solutions to all issues last for the long-term. Other than all of this, both the GOP and, more importantly, world conservatism should do fine for the long-term.

Nobody’s talking about conservatives here. We’re talking about Mitt Romney and his sycophantic cult of personality. Romney’s father was a liberal Republican, as was his mother. Romney ran for office as a liberal Republican and governed as one. Then, he decided to run for President.

As for the Mittwits, they are no more conservative than Romneycare.

...because Romney has lived the most “socially conservative” life of any of the major candidates.

Yeah, let's just gloss over his liberal policies while he was governor.

Either he's a conservative with a jelly spine or a liberal who is a liar.

Neither is someone I want as my GOP nominee...

It's a lot more productive than acting like a bunch of slack jawed morons who all agree on the best RINO.

COMPETENT CONSERVATISM PING!

I earlier spoke of how we should elect politicians based on 3 factors - character, competence, and vision...
