What was the dumbest reason you've heard people give to vote for Obama? Mine came from a 70-year male old who said, "I like the way he speaks. He sounds like Jack Kennedy."
Here’s a few:
I would’ve voted for McCain, but that Palin lady . . . no way I’d vote for someone whose daughter is pregnant . . . shows she an unfit mother.
Kinda’ liked that “Obama-mama” thing
He’s younger
Palin ought to stay home
No he is a half breed
More than one person has told me it was about keeping abortion legal.
Worst reason evah.
I hate to say it, but I know several college professionals just like her. Nose in the air because Palin went to five ‘state’ schools and has a weird accent. They think she is an idiot. (heck, we have a couple here too.)
While not a comment about the election, I did hear this today:
“Obama will put Pelosi in her place because he’s nowhere near as far left as her.”
I just shook my head.
Thats what I came up with. I may tell her that to her face, along with what I may say to my brother in law the Catholic priest who voted for him also. That conversation won’t end on a nice tone.
“He’s black, like me.”
A few I’ve heard:
“He’ll be able to help oppressed blacks, and bring white and black people together and end racism.”
“It’s so nice to have a president-elect who thoughtfully thinks before he acts. And I’m most proud of the fact that American voters finally understood what being a nation of immigrants truly means. Who knows, some day maybe we’ll eventually elect a Muslim or a woman who is a lesbian.”
“Obama is so articulate and McCain is too old.”
Well between her and her husband , they make well over 250,000. I can’t wait to hear the wailing about taxes.
I had one female friend (an ex) who said she voted for Obama because she couldn’t stand Palin. The G-F (soon to be ex) said she always votes for Democrats. I knew better than to ask my daughter. She doesn’t know anything at all about current events.
I have been looking for new friends ever since. That may sound harsh, but this whole thing made me look at who I have allowed into my life, and desire to change that. There is no way these people will ever admit their mistake. Sad for me. I don’t think they will miss me.
A co-worker told me if I didn’t vote for Obama, I was racist! (Sigh)
Dilbert-like true story:
Boss comes over and sits down at my desk during the Democratic runoffs.
Exclaims sincerely, gleefully, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a black AND a woman in the White House?” (Boss was speaking of Hillary and Obama at the time. And yes, this is Connecticut.)
What do you say in that situation? uh...
Now Boss is retired.
One I saw earlier today was the lady wouldn’t vote for McCain because he had been in prison..../facepalm
A trainer at a fitness place really said that.
"I went to vote for McCain and when I voted I thought of Sarah Palin I voted for Obama".
This from a coworker.
Holy cow, what stupidity. Scares the crap outta me!
Change...now we have a cabinet of reruns...go figure.
