A judge has ordered that concealed weapons charges be dismissed against four off-duty Washington police officers who were charged in connection with a shooting during the Sturgis rally.
Circuit Judge Warren Johnson ruled Friday that Scott Lazalde, Dennis McCoy, James Rector and Ron Smith are exempt from prosecution under South Dakota state law because of the federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act.
However, Johnson ruled that a concealed weapons charge against Erik Pingel, 35, of Aurora, Colo., can proceed.

One of them shot a Hell’s Angel. I consider that a public service.

One of them shot a Hells Angel. I consider that a public service. So it's okay to start going around shooting people due to their associations?
I don't like liberals much. Should I shoot one? Some liberals may have committed crimes in the past, so any liberal I run across should be shot?
Rarely does the day go by here on FR that we don't read about some cop somewhere being involved in criminal activity. Should we start shooting cops?
Your statement is absurd and idiotic.

There is a very real difference, though. Some liberals are criminals. ALL Hell's Angels are criminals. That is fact. Go ahead and ask one if you are brave enough.

Well, when a fight starts between two motorcycle groups, it’s hard to say where the fault lies without a lot more information. But the article does suggest that the Hell’s Angel who was shot was the guy who started the fight.
I pass on whether or not it was justified. Really not enough to go on.

If you're going to travel with your concealed weapon, you need to make sure you have the permits and reciprocity with the states you will be visiting. The cops got a "freebie" on this one. Most of us have to have our "papers" in order.

Wrong.
All are NOT "criminals".
I know every one who belongs to the local chapter, including prospects. I've been to the clubhouse many, many times, and one of them is my Brother in another fraternal organization.
YOU go be "brave" and educate yourself. I've got nothing to prove.
Especially to you.

LEOs are permitted BY LAW to carry concealed. How is it a "freebie" when their concealed carry was completely legal?

Too bad ordinary citizens don't have equal protection under that law. What makes a LEO better than any ordinary citizen?

Hell's Angels is a criminal enterprise, like Crips, Bloods, KKK and the Democrat party.

Too bad ordinary citizens don't have equal protection under that law. What makes a LEO better than any ordinary citizen? Nothing makes them "better", but a LEO has typically gone through 1) an extensive background check, and 2) many hours of firearms training. I suspect those two facts make a difference.
Yes, there's a "cops are better" attitude from lots of folks when it comes to guns, and it's frequently a false sense of security. But I'd much rather LEOs be given blanket concealed-carry rights than nobody, which is how it was before. It's progress in the right direction.
