Joe Scarborough didn't cotton to being called a "socialist," but that's just what Krystia Freeland did on today's Morning Joe. The Financial Times editor used the s-word to describe what she mockingly described as Joe's "touching faith" in the wisdom of government bureaucrats when it comes to reorganizing Detroit automakers.
The Morning Joe host didn't take the insult lying down.

Joe doesn’t dig being called a socialist ping to Today show list.
The truth stings.
Most of the older dhimmirat supporters understand that “socialism is bad”
as they haven’t recently been through the public school indoctrination system that tells them the opposite.
They take great umbrage when you point out that what they support IS socialism - redistribution of wealth through the government IS socialism - deal with it.
Younger people, though, say things like “a little socialism is a good idea” or “what’s wrong with communism?”
and wave Soviet flags
and have pictures of Che Guevera on their walls.
Oh my, Kristia Freeland and I are in agreement on something.
Must check outside for pigs flying by.
She better watch herself.
The last broad that got “mouthy” ended up dead in his offices.
The chic worships obama. joe is a ratings whore and the only repubs that appear on his show are rhinos.
Quit watching it last year, I hope you’ll join me.
The proposed bailout bears no semblance to either situation. Here you have a gov't that wants to establish an equity interest in a major industry. For what purpose? Purely so they can control it. If they can do that, Queen Nancy can dictate that all cars be limited to the power generated by two gerbils in a squirrel cage. A bailout lets the auto execs postpone the hard decisions that must be made down the road, and the biggest is to tell the UAW that worker benefits are going to be stripped to the bone.
Krystia Freeland's suggestion of giving the bailout money to the workers is equally stupid. For decades the UAW membership has bloated the price of US cars far above what they should be, resulting in a real income transfer from consumers to the UAW. Now they want to take MY tax money and pile that on top of what the UAW has already siphoned off the economic system? BS. Enough's enough. Congress needs to get out of the bailout business and let companies sink or swim on their own. As to the unemployment effects, I think the gov't has purposely way overstated their impact, especially since most suppliers have seen this coming down the pike for years.
He can listen and learn. He is what he is, either change it or deal with it. This ‘taking umbrage’ is kid’s stuff. This is why television is such a waste of time.
LOL.
Love it!
Joe had a pretty good conservative record when he was in Congress. I think that when he went over to the Dark Side (MSNBC) it corrupted him.
Herman Cain, former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza was on Fox and Friends this morning, and was SO insightful and succinct in his views on a “car bailout.” He called it a union bailout and not a companies bailout. Hope the full transcript gets put up. Everything he said was right on the money.
“Joe Scarborough likens the bailout of the auto industry to the transition performed by the private sector on the eve of WWII”
Well, war is usually when the state takes precedence over all competing concerns, so the build-up to WWII was pretty socialistic in my book. It just so happens that we’re not mobilizing for war as a nation right now, so the point is moot.
Would Scarborough prefer to be called a corporatist, ‘cause I can live with that. I’ll stop short of fascist, socialist, and communist if it makes him feel better.
“collectivist” is a nice neutral term for now.
But we know how any term comes to mean what it is assigned to, and “progressive” and “collectivist” could soon connote “fascist”, because that’s what it is.
Bears repeating, jack.
Bump.
I think that Joe wants so much to be “liked.” Sad.
I saw that, and the fifteen minutes that followed were pretty interesting too. Joe needs to layoff the caffeine...he was decidedly Howard Beale-like.
“They take great umbrage when you point out that what they support IS socialism - redistribution of wealth through the government IS socialism - deal with it.”
You need to get your mind right. It’s not communism or socialism, its “SHARING”. Taxes are “contributions”, rampant spending is “investment”. Those who think otherwise need to “re-educated”. Those that can’t be re-educated need to be “put to sleep”.
