Rove may be bright but he is a RINO! PERIOD! We need to find someone with his intellect that is a true conservative.
Rove is not a policy guy or an ideology guy. He’s the guy who can get you elected. That’s his job and he’s fairly good at it.
In a sense, it looks like we can't, either.

Interesting that she is the one getting most of the post election coverage. Truly we as a party must treat her as the asset she is.
He is a guy who is electing the wrong people. And Yes he is a policy guy.
Sarah Palin is political dynamite — she’s open, honest, likable, intelligent, pretty and ... nobody’s fool.
Rove has done a reaonable job; but it’s time for him to move on.

You have capsulized my opinion perfectly. However, merely suggesting that Sarah can improve is enough to make some people on FR dismiss you entirely. Look at the fury and ad hominem attacks with which they are responding to Rove.
She obviously is a smart woman with amazing political gifts. I just hope she hasn’t been permanently branded as a lightweight in the minds of most — a la Dan Quayle. If that has happened, she may never be able to overcome it.

I don't think a hero worship at this stage is good for anyone, especially Palin.
She has to earn this.

Obama DID promise to meet with dictators, including Achmanonjihand, without preconditions. And the fact that Achmanonjihad doesn't actually have any power and is ruled by the mullahs (an actual correct point Biden made) makes the PR victory for Iran in Presidential level meetings even more useless for us and better for Iran.
Many votes of both Obma and McCain were misrepresented by Biden.
And the cherry on top was him trying to establish his “down home” bonifieds by claiming to frequent “Katie's” a restaurant that has been closed for ten years.
Compared to that I only had two criticisms of Palin’s performance. She passed on several blatant opportunities to put ANY daylight between the McCain/Palin candidacy and the Bush/Cheney administration. And every politician, when they don't know or don't want to answer the question asked, just rambles off talking points on any tangentially related subject, but I have never heard a politician ADMIT that she (or he) was going to do it.
Rove and Palin just wouldn’t mix anyway I suspect.
Only african americans are monolithic in their support. Asians and Hispanics are not. Do not group us all together.
Selling an easy amnesty with no border enforcement was a big mistake, but lets not mince words. Republicans need to get the hispanic vote on their side. Part of the way to do this is to control the immigration from hispanic countries so that it is upscale and make sure they become part of the middle class.
The key though is to heavily recruit hispanic candidates for office. Any immigration bill passed by republicans that is tough needs to have a legitimate hispanic political leader as its spokesperson who can honestly say that the bill is a plan to help protect our borders without undermining the legal immigration process that has been working in America for many years.
At any rate, if you want to be a part of the minority party, go ahead and go nativist and group all hispanics together. See how far that gets the GOP or conservative political values.

Rove has thought it out more accurately than you. Sarah's house is in the suburbs of Anchorage. She spends most of her time in the office in Anchorage. She commutes to Juneau only when necessary to conduct state business. The Governor's mansion is in Juneau, but it is under renovation and Sarah does not live there. If anyone is going to spend time with Sarah, either at home or in the office, it will be in Anchorage.
One should get their facts straight before criticizing someone else who actually does.
I think Gov. Palin needs exposure to the “wilds” of Washington politics. Who would be more “insider” then Rove?

I agree. While she was the only positive reason that I pulled the lever for McCain, there are some things that really concern me. I don't like her occasional populist slants, such as saying that the housing market crash was due to Wall Street greed. I also don't like her comments (as recently as yesterday) that we need to quit being partisan. We see where that has gotten us over the last eight years. She's also all over the board on environmental issues; she's great on energy exploration, but then she courts the hard left on the man-made global warming hoax. The other thing that concerns me is whether she's been forever tainted by the unfair coverage she has received, ala Dan Quayle. Quayle was rushed out too soon and was unfairly savaged in 1988. However, he destroyed Gore in their 1992 debate and he was very polished and articulate on the campaign trail in 2000. However, the damage was done and he was never able to escape the perception as being the guy who couldn't spell potato.
Just what we need, another beltway "intellectual" sigh
