What was obvious to any informed viewer of the VP debates was the Senator “brain damage” Biden was a travesty of serious sounding pronouncements that were 180 degrees out of phase with reality.

To recap....

Hezbollah was never out of Lebanon, and is not now and never will be “legitimate”.

Article I of the Constitution is the LESISLATIVE not the executive branch, and the VP role is discussed in BOTH, making Biden’s contention that the VP role was an executive role exclusively because it was only in the executive article (which he misidentified as Article I) was clearly and absolutely wrong.

Obama DID promise to meet with dictators, including Achmanonjihand, without preconditions. And the fact that Achmanonjihad doesn't actually have any power and is ruled by the mullahs (an actual correct point Biden made) makes the PR victory for Iran in Presidential level meetings even more useless for us and better for Iran.

Many votes of both Obma and McCain were misrepresented by Biden.

And the cherry on top was him trying to establish his “down home” bonifieds by claiming to frequent “Katie's” a restaurant that has been closed for ten years.

Compared to that I only had two criticisms of Palin’s performance. She passed on several blatant opportunities to put ANY daylight between the McCain/Palin candidacy and the Bush/Cheney administration. And every politician, when they don't know or don't want to answer the question asked, just rambles off talking points on any tangentially related subject, but I have never heard a politician ADMIT that she (or he) was going to do it.

I think to the drive-by’s she was overconfident. We had just faced a financial crisis and she’s been held under scrutiny for not having enough experience to be president (since people know mccain is really old). Her winks did not help her look professional. Also she seemed badly versed in many issues (and I say seemed).

For example, when she said she said Biden was, “waving the white flag of surrender,” in Iraq many interpreted it as a naive platitude about Iraq policy. CNN viewers (I know it is CNN) pushed their dials way down at that moment. She had many moments like that where it could be construed as not having her facts straight (blaming Wall Street greed to fault the bailout for example), and for all her attempts to connect, its Biden who had the peak emotional moment with his reference to his family after his wife had died.

Now I like Sarah Palin a lot, but thats the way the cards fell. After Bush, Republicans are not going to get away with looking anti-intellectual anymore by the electorate.
