I think he’s right. She needs a lot of grooming to make it through a full Presidential cycle. We may not like that, but it’s a fact.

Agreed, she could use some more schooling in foreign affairs. Nothing wrong with that. It's a complex world out there, and 4 more years brushing up will make her an extremely strong presidential candidate in 2012. But John Edwards is hardly someone who should give advice in this area. Still she was 1000 times more qualified than either Biden or the Marxist Messiah.

Palin made a lot of “rookie mistakes,” but I too, fear she’s been “Quayled.” However, unlike Quayle, she will have the opportunity to change her perception. Of course, should Obama’s Presidency tank, that too, will open up opportunities for her. But what I see as her biggest problem is appealing to non-whites.

These are reasons that for now, I am firmly in Bobby Jindal’s corner for 2012.

I think she's a really good speaker and she's a star. I do think she should look into getting a higher degree. She could be finished by the time her term as governor is up.

I think to the drive-by’s she was overconfident. We had just faced a financial crisis and she’s been held under scrutiny for not having enough experience to be president (since people know mccain is really old). Her winks did not help her look professional. Also she seemed badly versed in many issues (and I say seemed).

For example, when she said she said Biden was, “waving the white flag of surrender,” in Iraq many interpreted it as a naive platitude about Iraq policy. CNN viewers (I know it is CNN) pushed their dials way down at that moment. She had many moments like that where it could be construed as not having her facts straight (blaming Wall Street greed to fault the bailout for example), and for all her attempts to connect, its Biden who had the peak emotional moment with his reference to his family after his wife had died.

Now I like Sarah Palin a lot, but thats the way the cards fell. After Bush, Republicans are not going to get away with looking anti-intellectual anymore by the electorate.

No, I was raised with you folks (if you’re Hispanic) in S. Texas speaking spanish, still do and translate for arraignments in our county court in central Texas. Neither can you class me in this regard.

Nothing is 100% but the Hispanic vote is clearly in the pocket of the Slavery party, always has been. Just as it is not “monolithic” but darn near, neather are my friends just of one “race” either. And we have been frustrated over this for decades.

There are exceptions but I’ll tell you this: “reaching out” (pandering) does not work. A person must either believe (or at least consider the truth of the platform) in the once-viable platform of the GOP or not. I talk until I’m blue in the face with Hispanic friends over these things, I find it mind-boggling that as I have changed positions when proven wrong in certain area, as a group they stubbornly hang tight to the lies of the Left. Elections have proven me right and I go way back to my Texas border upbringing with this experience and perspective. Look at the election county map as backup.

The old DNC was not so antagonistic in those days (60s, except La Raza and other militant subgroups) unlike today’s DNC and we lived under many, many local and state Dem office holders from Mayors, Chiefs of Police, Sheriffs, Representatives, the list goes on and on, and we did okay and remained FRIENDS. I really don’t think there’s any “coming together” of the two now unless you are willing to appease oneself out of existence which has just about happened with the RINOs among us, sure worked great didn’t it!

100% in agreement. She is a potential superstar, but I think she made a mistake in her speech and debate. She did excellent, but did not focus in detail on her real achievements. The folksyness is good for some of the base, but not beyond that. I think it made many believe she was a good speaker and accomplished but not ready for the Presidency (or VP). She needed to bring out the policy wins specifically.

In reality she is better prepared to be President than Obama....the only advantage he had was a year and half or more of campaigning and a policy team to work through the specifics so he could read off the teleprompter. She was working away as governor until a couple days before she joined the campaign, so she was not well versed on every election topic. In terms of real world experience, she was fine. That did not come across. She must become serious in her responses but let her personality come through in her answers. Then, she is a potential winner.

You're right about Jindal, after listening to him the other day all I could say was 'wow'. Together, Sarah and Bobby could drain the D.C swamp of supposed conservatives and that would be a good thing.
