SC priest: No communion for Obama supporters

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil."

The Rev. Jay Scott Newman said in a letter distributed Sunday to parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville that they are putting their souls at risk if they take Holy Communion before doing penance for their vote.

"Our nation has chosen for its chief executive the most radical pro-abortion politician ever to serve in the United States Senate or to run for president," Newman wrote, referring to Obama by his full name, including his middle name of Hussein.

Then maybe the people didn’t belong in those churches if they refused to listen to the Word of God.

It tells me that many people are in church for the wrong reason.

Praise the Lord. A priest with guts. Now why can’t we hear something like this from His Holiness.

Seriously, dude. This is the Roman Catholic Church. St. Stephan was stoned, St. Paul crucified, St. Peter crucified, St. Andrew crucified....

Do you know what what they can do with their 503 status? Render unto caesar what is caesar’s, but render unto God what is God’s.

Let them have their taxes. Maybe then the gloves come off.

In my imagination the Mass is in Latin and the sermon every week denounces the Godlessness of the world.

supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil."

Exactly - this election was a line in the sand.
And, yes, "line in the sand" is a biblical reference.

Words are cheap, though. Here’s someone that’s putting some

to people’s choices.

Thanks for the ping, Lisa_from Buckeye Country. I can pray for him - I pray that he reaps what he has sown, the quicker the better. Double quick!!! And I mean that with all my heart. The better for him (he’ll have less to reap if he starts now, before he sows more) and better for everyone else.

Don’t feel like a failure - at least that’s my opinion. He is a loathesome, hateful, decietful, envious, lying, racist, scumlike thug. THere’s nothing wrong in praying that he will reap what he has sown. Maybe he’ll learn if he does some reaping the bitter harvest from the bitter seeds.

Check out the uproar over at DU. They want to pull their tax exempt status.

In other words, shut up or we'll bankrupt you. Seems to be the Libs standard response to all criticism.

I pray every night.....that God will protect my family from the evils of barrack obama and the democratic party

I really need help here, spiritually. I saw the thread to pray for Obama (no debate allowed), and I was so vilified when I started a thread questioning this. Does that make me any less of a Christian? I can't bring myself to pray for him.

**Obama is not a candidate anymore. Does it still matter?**

Yes, it still matters. The dimocrats have a plank in their platform totally supporting more and more and more abortion. So anyone who votes to support them basically excommunicates himself/herself.

Have you read any of the details about the FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act)? If not, please do.

Try praying for the country instead. It will need it in the coming months/years.

Note the “past tense” of the word voted.
Obama is no longer a candidate.

We have come a long way over the course of our nation's history. The following link details how the US Capitol, as well as the Supreme Court, were used for church services that more often than not were filled to capactiy and spilling over. Preaching, prayer and church services were the norm in the Capitol chambers until the early 1900's. A four-hour communion service was even held in the Treasury Building. History our children and grandchildren certainly aren't being in taught in the government schools.

What’s so twisted is that some people act like tax exempt status is a privilege. It should be the norm.

The government does not have the *right* to tax everybody and anybody and then offer tax exemption to use it to blackmail them and control their behavior.
