Regarding Congressman Frank's auto industry idea, again, we need an amendment to the Constitution to require federal lawmakers to do the following.

In order to protect US citizens from constitutionally clueless renegade lawmakers like Frank whenever they get a wild hair to make a bill, especially a spending-related bill, they will be required to provide the following information. They are to reference in the bill the constitutional statutes which reasonably gives the federal government the power to regulate issues addressed by the bill, indicating by article, section, clause and amendment numbers, including specific wording and words, those parts of the Constitution which reflect reasonable compliance with the following general statute which they are presently hypocritically swearing to defend and wrongly ignoring.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 18: To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution (emphasis added) in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.
The referenced statutes must not only clearly give Congress the power to regulate the issues being addressed, but be provided for each line item, in all bills. Any bill missing such information for any line item, or having a smudged, confusing or reasonably inapplicable reference, will not be made into law, PERIOD.

There should also be a section in this amendment, similar in spirit to Sec. 3 of the 14th Amendment, that kicks federal lawmakers guilty of trying to usurp state powers, as evidenced by unclear, inapplicable or misleading references, out of office on their first offense, and which prohibits them from again holding any office.

Many of the foreign automakers have been opening plants all over the south. Maybe you can buy from them. They aren’t unionized.....yet.

When 'Card Check" passes, that will most likely end.

I wonder what happens when the government runs out of money? Or print so much that the dollar’s value dwindles to nothing?

That happened about 3 years ago. We're there now.

I fear a lot of people have grown comfortable complaining and not being activist. I intend to be very proactive with this pathetic excuse for a congress, senate and POTUS.

Excellent idea. They sure would not have much to do up there in Washington anymore if they followed your advice and could probably cut their work week in half too....lol

I’ve only owned one Nissan truck and they had to prove to me that it was produced in Tennessee or I wouldn’t have bought it, LOL! The transmission finally went out on it. I would never buy an import, no matter what. My late Dad was a 36 year GM employee, so I always drive GMC trucks and have never had a problem with them mechanically. As long as they make me happy, I’ll stick with them. I am still trying to talk hubby into a Hummer though. I want one just to P.O. the liberal-envirowhacko-weenies.

Our auto companies cannot compete with the German and other manufacturers because of our unions... the unions are going to be the death of this country under The O.

And after the Democrats finish ramming through "card check" and union thugs can beat and intimidate everyone into forming and joining unions because of a lack of a secret ballot, their power will expand dramatically.
