When voters woke up on Wednesday morning after the election, Senator Norm Coleman led Al Franken by what seemed like a relatively comfortable 725 votes. By Wednesday night, that lead had shrunk to 477. By Thursday night, it was down to 336. By Friday, it was 239. Late Sunday night, the difference had gone down to just 221 -- a total change over 4 days of 504 votes.
Amazingly, this all has occurred even though there hasnt even yet been a recount. Just local election officials correcting claimed typos in how the numbers were reported. Counties will certify their results today, and their final results will be sent to the secretary of state by Friday. The actual recount wont even start until November 19.

Count, recount, recount again until the demwit wins............
Didn’t they find some of the ballots “in an official’s car”?
It’s now down to 206.
yep.
they’ll probably count ones found in a homeless guy’s pocket found floating in the Mississippi ,too.
It’s like Democrat-run Washington State - Coleman is dead meat. They will recount and recount until Franken gets ahead, then stop.
Then a liberal judge will approve it.
Coleman, the winner, is history.
Don’t. If the dems run true to form, he’ll be out on his butt in 2014..........
A voter should not be forced to vote for a contested race after declining to do so the first time. If he/she is uncomfortable voting because of lack of knowledge about the two candidates, that should be accepted as much as a vote is for the other races.
I don’t care. I’m sick and tired of conservatives being held to a different standard. They couldn’t be involved in an honest election if their lives depended on it. I don’t want Franken to serve even one minute of a senate term that he’s not entitled to. He’s friggin’ lucky that I don’t live in his state.
Ridicule him, marginalize him, destroy his political career. But do it within the bounds of decency and legality. Don’t stoop to their level........
We probably need to insist on a runoff election, which Coleman would win easily. Nobody is ever going to be satisfied with any sort of a recount on this one.
Who can forget----the USSC stopped the count in Fla----probably as appalled as the rest of us to see the eternal counting that was not going to stop until the Dems "found" the votes to win.
Have the Dems called in the infamous Chicago-based Daley Family Vote-Manufacturing Company, yet?
The company is known for finding votes in the least likely places. Like in used pizza boxes----votes suddenly materialize under the leftover pepperoni. This might be the year empty Taco Bell burrito wrappers hold missing votes.
If the counters take frequent bathroom breaks----they might come back with damp votes they found stuffed in the toilet tank.
When the counting gets into the late evening, watch those cleaning ladies mopping-up---they might find votes stuffed behind the voting machines.
They are stealing this election in broad daylight before our very eyes and we are supposed to sit on our hands and do nothing? Where is Pawlenty? Where is the RNC? Where is the Republican Senate Campaign Committee? Somebody on the GOP side needs to stand up and fight this larceny. Else, why even bother to vote any more? Damn - I'm pissed!!!!
I think the author is wrong about that. The ballot is returned if the vote is indecipherable; if there is a mark for both candidates, a single mark (a filled in oval) is not sufficiently dark, or marked up white space near the ovals. Generally, if the dems run out of "found" ballots, the 206 (or whatever it is down to today) has a very good chance of standing up. Unlike rat election judges, the mistakes made by machines are rare, and tend to balance out.
Ripe FOR election fraud or ripe WITH election fraud?
Democrats will be satisfied with the final approved recount. The MSM will be satisfied. The rest of us are chopped liver.
I read a news article on here (maybe on the Minn race) where test ballots with known results were run on the machines and run on a single machine multiple times with distressingly incorrect results. Some failures were due to a bit of dirt on the scanner and similar random problems. The bottom line was that they are not infallible so if the ballots are run through a second or third time, expect varying results. This will no doubt lead to time consuming hand counts which will have to be monitored and verified by both Dem and Pub watchers. With that small a difference, every change from the original count will be challenged.
For those that may not be aware, there were four candidates on the ballot (actually more, but with not many votes). The independent was one of Jesse Ventura's supporters who ran for senate previously and lost. And a libertarian picked up nearly 14,000 votes that if they had been cast for Coleman there would be no need for any of this.
I don’t understand how the state and county GOP and the RNC seem to be sitting on their hands. How can these precincts come up with 500 votes seemingly UNCHALLENGED BEFORE a recount???!!! It is obviously a setup for voter fraud.
I’d drive up there to help do sommmmething, but why do it if they are not trying to stop this themselves?!
