An American engineer held hostage by Islamic militants in Afghanistan was freed in a daring nighttime raid by a Special Operations team last month, a rare move in a country where hostages often pay ransoms or don't come home at all.
A team of about 30 special operators composed mostly of Navy SEALs flew into the mountains outside Kabul on October 14 to retrieve the 61-year-old American businessman, killing his captors and returning him to safety after nearly two months in captivity, according to an account in the Army Times.

Obama would not talk with the hostage takers. He would invite them for dinner at a quaint place in Pakistan.
Of course he would cancel and then send someone like John Kerry or Shrillary.
Speaking of the power hungry phony, has anyone seen her lately. I kinda miss her after seeing the last round of phony interviews where she was “supporting” Obama but couldn’t crack a smile or any emotion for that matter.
It was great seeing how utterly miserable she was.
SF, et al, should all be in language school, growing long hair, living abroad in small, discrete cells.....and killing propagandists, financiers and family members of our enemies. IMHO.
The Army Times piece gives us a sense of the brilliance in constant supply at the State Department, as contrasted with the way people talk from the Department of Breaking Things and Hurting Bad Guys (my name for the Defense Department, which used to be more accurately called the War Department):
The U.S. Embassy in Kabul and the State Department did not respond to requests for comment. But military sources said Woods view was that any publicity of Americans taken hostage in Afghanistan, even those who are rescued, encourages the bad guys to take more hostages and scares off Americans and other westerners from visiting or working in Afghanistan.
The special operators see the Oct. 15 rescue differently. To them, the fact that U.S. forces were able to rescue an American hostage from a location where the kidnappers felt secure sends a very clear message to any extremist groups that [kidnapping Americans] will be handled with vigilance and unrelenting persecution, said the special operations officer.
I wish more people who work the USG could be induced to think like the special ops guys. Jesse Helms was right — State should just be abolished. Maybe after the next four years . . .
Are our guys AWESOME or what?
God Bless Them!!
God bless our brave troops. Most excellent news.

Awesome!
Now why won’t hollywood make a movie showing the tenacity and bravery of our troops instead of the steaming piles of bs that they’ve been making in an effort to offend them?
Well now, that is GOOD news.
Thank you very much RR.
