Larry Elder versus the Marx Brothers - Doug McIntyre and Al Rantel
various | November 11, 2008

Posted on 11/11/2008 11:43:37 AM PST by EveningStar

Larry Elder hosts a daily radio talk show on KABC in Los Angeles.

Last Wednesday, I was listening to his post election analysis. He was relating the previous Tuesday night's election coverage show which he co-hosted with KABC colleagues Doug McIntyre and Al Rantel.

During this show, Larry was astonished to learn that both McIntyre and Rantel had voted for Obama. Both McIntyre and Rantel, like Larry, are supposedly free market, small government types. He found their explanations for voting for Obama to be absurd and goofy. They were so nonsensical that Larry felt like he was surrounded by the Marx Brothers. Larry has now given them that nickname.

Doug McIntyre was listening to Larry's Wednesday show and wanted to correct Larry on one point. Larry put Doug on the show. As you can hear from this audio clip, Larry pretty much ripped Doug a new one. Blogger graemebird covered this quite well last Friday.

Larry continues to refer to Rantel and McIntyre as the Marx Brothers.

I still believe Rantel’s support is the result of a crush. Ideas just don’t explain it.

They may just be saying that they voted for Obama so as not to appear “racist”. Who really knows how they voted...?
What asses either way. Bless Larry’s heart!

Doug is not the sharpest tool in the shed - I was surprised at his announcement but he is in the entertainment business and puts on a show people mistake for his beliefs. Everyone forgets it’s a show.

Al, well, Al is gay and the gay community voted O.

Very few in the entertainment business are having an honest discussion with you the audience.

Now you know the secret and pick your own discussion.

Rantel is an idiot. All these “conservatives” on Fox and other places are now get along Democrats because they are all worried about the fairness doctrine.

I don't think it has anything to do with that.

The more I hear about Larry Elder the more thoroughly impressed by him. He’s a lot like Clarence Thomas, clinging to his principles no matter how painful.

The ABC radio network stopped offering Larry for national syndication about a year and a half ago. What a shame.

Is there somethng to this book or is it BS?

My liberal girlfriend sent it to me yesterday.

I don’t trust her sources, understandably.

She got it from an aquaintance in South America.

I asked her why she was basing her opinion on her own country from South America!

Larry Elder is my favorite conservative radio host - I even like him better than Rush or Hannity.

His conversation with Doug McIntyre was riveting stuff. Can't listen to Al Rental. His 'sit on the fence' attitude he was proclaiming before the election turned me off.

“All these “conservatives” on Fox and other places are now get along Democrats because they are all worried about the fairness doctrine”.

The Fairness Doctrine only applies to government owned airwaves (e.g., non-satellite radio). It cannot apply to cable TV. It would never apply to non-cable TV because the Lib networks would have to balance their “investigative” shows as well as their news anchors.

Rantel was REALLY in the tank for Obama. McIntyre less so ... in fact, McIntyre said he voted for Obama to “teach the Repubs a lesson”. I consider that kind of excuse ignorant.

I’ve had it with both of them.

But Larry has been great this entire election season.

I’ve been in studio as a guest on McIntyre’s show. He is a very smart man, is well written, and has great historical knowledge of our presidents. That having been said, he has lost his mind.
