[Black]Churches across America reflect on Obama election
The New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung / The Associated Press ^ | November 9, 2008 | Allen G. Breed

RALEIGH, N.C.--Jubilation, pride and relief permeated pews and pulpits at predominantly black churches across the country on the first Sunday after Barack Obama's election, with congregrants blowing horns, waving American flags and raising their hands to the heavens.

"God has vindicated the black folk," the Rev. Shirley Caesar-Williams said as a member of her Raleigh congregation, Mount Calvary Word of Faith Church, brandished a flag and another marched among the pews blowing a ram's horn.

"Too long we've been at the bottom of the totem pole, but he has vindicated us, hallelujah," the Grammy-winning gospel singer cried. "I don't know about you, but I don't have nothing to put my head down for, praise God. Because when I look toward Washington, D.C., we got a new family coming in. We got a new family coming in. And you know what? They look like us. Amen, amen. They look like us."

In the historically black New York City neighborhood of Harlem, Obama buttons and T-shirts were as prevalent in the pews as colorful plumed hats, while in a church in the former capital of the Confederacy, a young girl handled a newspaper with a photo of Obama and the headline, "Mr. President."

At Los Angeles' oldest black church, ushers circulated through the aisles with boxes of tissues as men and women, young and old, wept openly and unabashedly at the fall of the nation's last great racial barrier.

And on the day that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. famously called "the most segregated day of the week," black and white Christian clergy members asked God to give Obama the wisdom and strength to lead the country out of what many consider a wilderness of despair and gloom.

you can't blame them for feeling good about hussein....only because he's got dark skin color....that is the only reason they voted for him....

character?...no...integrity?..no...bought by foreign interests and insane ultra rich?...yes...yes...yes..

its very sad actually....very sad....

but they'll keep voting for him.....no matter if we end up with a nuclear war, he'll still be considered their messiah...

Our church prayed for president-elect Obama, too...for his wisdom, strength, and salvation.

My priest offered up something similar. He needs our prayers, that he become like Saul of Tarsus, gets slapped by God and opens his eyes.

That any “Christian” church would rejoice in the election of a pro-partial birth abortions, far left Socialist man to high office, simply because he is “black”, shows that such “Christian” people are most likely fake “Christians” like Obama, and also shows that most blacks are racist.

That's why this pains me so, as it probably does the senior Pastor, who is a registered Republican by the way, and does not take kindly to these types of hi jinks in the pulpit.

He was scowling quite a bit, too.

just yesterday I was reading about this white marine recently married to a black woman.....they were found gagged and bound and shot in the head, both of them....

the perps are all black marines....

funny how this little story was kept hidden from the national news until after the election...

wouldn't want it to be considered racial when a white man is killed by a gang of blacks....

if black people think hussein is going to change their lives, they better be prepared...

its not going to happen....

you will still have an ungodly number of abortions, rapes, murderes, attacks, babies out of wedlock, drug addictions, and diseases such as HIV.....

you could stop that, but its not coming from your little hitler....

it starts with your personal lives, not the govt....

seek to elevate your personal lives, then there will be a good change...

Well, he is a wannabe cracker. He’s aleady come up with involuntary servitude and while they will do their best to make it “fun” and “cool” for those naive enough to put on the yoke, it will not be fun or cool for those who will pay for all the propaganda it’s going to take to make people drink the koolaid. Every tax payment may as well be a stroke of the whip.

If he were a conservative Republican he would be an uncle tom and the black churches would not be celebrating.

His 12% Black 50% White heritage would be their proof that he is WHITE and not one of them.

Revelation yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - homosexual behavior forced upon us and the killing of millions more babies. I am just so sick and tired of hearing how blacks hold conservative family values - it makes me want to spit.

If Michael Steele or Alan Keyes were elected as a black Republican president would they still be celebrating in the same manner? Or would they be calling them Uncle Tom?

Blacks are still enslaved by their own tribal mentality and the bamboozling by Democrats and MSM.

From The Onion:

WASHINGTON – African-American man Barack Obama, 47, was given the least-desirable job in the entire country Tuesday when he was elected president of the United States of America. In his new high-stress, low-reward position, Obama will be charged with such tasks as completely overhauling the nation's broken-down economy, repairing the crumbling infrastructure, and generally having to please more than 300 million Americans and cater to their every whim on a daily basis. As part of his duties, the black man will have to spend four to eight years cleaning up the messes other people left behind. The job comes with such intense scrutiny and so certain a guarantee of failure that only one other person even bothered applying for it. Said scholar and activist Mark L. Denton, "It just goes to show you that, in this country, a black man still can't catch a break."

Sadly, many "Black Christians" are proving themselves to be more Black than Christian by supporting a pro-infanticide candidate for POTUS because of his skin color.

Ye shall know them by their fruits.

I don’t know. I can imagine how an oppressed people have the point of view that they are worthless and that is so extremely hard to overcome. Any child, no matter what color, who is told over and over that he/she is a piece of crap by their parents or society, has to be extremely strong-willed to overcome that. It can be done, but it is hard. I can understand why they voted for him, too. It is just a shame that the one bi-racial person who rides the tide into the white house has to be such a con man. I heard the Israeli’s would make a deal with the devil for peace. Same thing here. If Obama is as horrible and death loving as we are afraid he is, I pray he doesn’t hide it or sugar-coat it or camouflage it. This gives me such a headache. I have been in mourning for the babies since tuesday. God hates abortion, and He is so angry now, that any more and we are truly doomed. I so wanted another chance at overturning Roe, I don’t understand why we didn’t get it. Nothing else matters at this point. I think I’m going to be sick.
