As Republicans, we face a choice-
Either we can spend the next several months -- or years -- trying to figure out what just happened, excusing our defeat away as a temporary blip or the result of a poor environment, and waiting for Barack Obama to trip up. Or we can refuse to take this defeat lying down, and start building the future of our party now. 2008 made one thing clear: if allowed to go unchecked, the Democrats' structural advantages, including their use of the Internet, their more than 2-to-1 advantage with young voters, their discovery of a better grassroots model -- will be as big a threat to the future of the GOP as the toxic political environment we have faced the last few years.

Agree....
As a Conservative, I’ve never followed Graham’s lead. The only reason I came aboard for McCain was because Barack Hussein Obama is dangerous.
In my ever so humble opinion, people can join the movement or choose not to and whine. We are still in a free country, for now, and I for one plan to work toward taking the GOP back.
Thanks!
No, I didn't. But our outmoded strategy became painfully obvious to me fairly early on. We are far too isolated, our message delivery too fragmented, and we've been marginalized by our own conceit and complacency.
But please, don't get me started on the RINO crap. I'm sorry, but I read through thread after thread of "It's not me, it's the RINOs" and I find the name-calling all too predictable, and a complete waste of time.
Who was name calling? I don’t name call..I lay out the facts. Hmmm, okay. Might I suggest you look up what name calling means? Thanks!
I just don't engage in the "I'm OK, you're a RINO" gambit.
Good idea, but not with Newt he is not the House anymore. We need a Pence, Ryan or Cantor to lead this. We also need to make Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid household names. They need to be the face of the Democrat House and Senate. Everything that is wrong with the country has be hung around their necks. The Congress had a 13% approval rating this cycle and we still allowed the Democrats to run as change. We should have been talking about the change they brought during their first 2 years of powers. It drove me nuts that every RNC commercial that was run against the Dems in the Congress was run against the liberals in Congress. Not once did they use the word Democrat.
It wasn’t taken personally, but I do find your statement rather interesting, considering the in your face RINOS who have jumped on board with Barack Hussein Obama.
Most of all, there are more RINOS out and about and THEY are the cause of the problems within the GOP.
Back to writing.... sheeze
Has anybody really looked at who this blog’s coalition is made up of? There are a bunch of RINO’s that make up this coalition! See it for yourselves. They are listed on the right side of their blog. RINO’s have seriously got to be kicked out of the GOP, because they continue to be a major reason why the GOP lost in both ‘06 and ‘08! Keeping RINO Republicans only assures that the GOP loses any future elections again and again and again and again...
I rest my case.
How true!! I was listening to a Cigar show based in Tampa, and the host said that we need to get away from this issue. Now, I want to say that social issues (abortion and gay marriage) is not what us young people are looking for. We want to be free from BIG GOVERNMENT anfd HIGH TAXES!!
hanks for the clarification.
It's useless to put a prosthesis on a dead body. Now more than ever it's plain that Conservatism and the GOP don't mix.
I like the idea. It’s good.
I also propose that Republicans hold a national election for Chairman of the RNC, who will serve as Shadow President in the same sense of the Shadow Cabinet until primary season is upon us.
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

Electing people that have never dallied with either yet spent like drunken sailors destroyed the Republicans.
Social conservatism without fiscal conservatism has been rejected by the American voter.
So this was all the GOP’s fault? Where do the Democrats fit into this one? They have been in control of the Congress since 2007. Most of all, they fought McCain and others to stop any type of investigation when it came to the Finance Industry. When will you blame the Media? Or Perhaps the Democrats? Or maybe the American people who vote for dummies like the DEMS who see tax hikes and taking 401ks as the answer to fixing problems?
