Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign slogan, "the audacity of hope," should have instead been "the audacity of deceit." After months of telling the American people that he supports the Second Amendment, and only hours after being declared the president-elect, the Obama transition team website announced an agenda taken straight from the anti-gun lobby--four initiatives designed to ban guns and drive law-abiding firearm manufacturers and dealers out of business:
"Making the expired federal assault weapons ban permanent." Perhaps no other firearm issue has been more dishonestly portrayed by gun prohibitionists. Notwithstanding their predictions that the ban's expiration in 2004 would bring about the end of civilization, for the last four years the nation's murder rate has been lower than anytime since the mid-1960s. Studies for Congress, the Congressional Research Service, the National Institute of Justice, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found no evidence that gun prohibition or gun control reduces crime. Guns that were affected by the ban are used in only a tiny fraction of violent crime-about 35 times as many people are murdered without any sort of firearm (knives, bare hands, etc.), as with "assault weapons." Obama says that "assault weapons" are machine guns that "belong on foreign battlefields," but that is a lie; the guns are only semi-automatic, and they are not used by a military force anywhere on the planet.
"Repeal the Tiahrt Amendment." The amendment--endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police--prohibits the release of federal firearm tracing information to anyone other than a law enforcement agency conducting a bona fide criminal investigation. Anti-gun activists oppose the restriction, because it prevents them from obtaining tracing information and using it in frivolous lawsuits against law-abiding firearm manufacturers. Their lawsuits seek to obtain huge financial judgments . . .

Obama’s intention to ban all private ownership of firearms of whatever type was striding along beside him throughout the entire campaign with a neon sign on its head; anyone who claims he didn’t see it is either a fool or blind; the confiscations will begin soon after the inauguration.
To the Liberal mind set, the Bill of Rights means nothing, the constitution is a fungible document - which is to say it means only what Liberals want it to mean - and any means justify the end of the coming Fascist Collectivism, for which read: communism.
The real irony here is that generations of Americans devoted their lives to fighting communism world-wide, with countless heroic individuals giving their lives in that cause, and now Americans have voted into office a foreign-born closet Muslim who intends to bring communism to the nation despite all the Cold War sacrifice.
We’re well on the way to a truly colossal national suicide by virtue of which the entire experiment in self-government initiated by the Founders, which has acted as a beacon of hope for oppressed people for generations, will be negated, together with two hundred-plus years of American history.
Clearly, enormous numbers of individuals would be only too happy to surrender their personal freedoms, hard-won by patriots over the centuries, in exchange for the sort of cradle-to-grave security promised (but which will never be delivered) by the Collective.
I was at Cabela’s in IL on Friday afternoon and the gun department was fairly crowded- the busiest department in the store (and it’s a BIG store).

Even then the response was “negotiation.” The opinion at that time would be the Russian missile silos would be empty and Russian Heads of State would be moved to secret bunkers. If we responded it would only provoke a second strike against the U.S. In other words a virtual guarantee of success for the enemy.
Fast forward to 2008 and “Slow” Joe Biden two weeks before the Conformation of Hussein the Magnificent.

Well now. I don’t know about all of y’all but the first thing that comes to mind is the Cuban Missile Crisis, Especially when Slow Joe spouts off with

And what will be even worse is Barry Hussein Barak Soroto Obama the Magnificent probably plans to go right back to that Clinton era policy of “absorbing” a full nuclear strike against the U.S. and then just “negotiation” as our response. I believe this because of Slow Joe’s statement on July 21.
"And he's going to need help . . . to stand with him. Because it's not going to be apparent initially; it's not going to be apparent that we're right."
So Slow Joe believes the general consensus of opinion is the American Citizens will not believe that the response of Hussein the Merciful is in the best interest of the U.S.
I think Slow Joe nailed one this time. Under such conditions Mr. Hussein’s decision will not be in the best interests of the United States.
And that just might get a few million American Citizens vaporized.

Well, Obama sure helped motivate my wife and I. We just signed-up to take the NRA LTC class next Saturday (it’s required in MA). Fortunately we live in a town with a Chief of Police who is good about issuing LTC-A’s.
