Republicans not supporting Sarah (It has to stop)

Posted on 11/07/2008 8:47:56 PM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

I feel a strong need to get this message out there. Sarah needs our support. And those of you who are insulting her and saying she is "not smart" or "not Presidential material" are insulting all of those people who went out into the rain and cold to watch her over the last few months. You are putting the future of your party at risk. We may have a situation from the movie "Troy" develop within the GOP.

We need to rally behind her. We need to stand up for her, because she took a lot of sharp cuts for standing up for us. She is the leader of our party now.

It seems like we have some Republicans who buy into the MSM lies. It seems like we have some Republicans who base their opinions of Sarah on the way their co-workers talk.

Hey folks, we tried to do it your way. We picked went RINO and RINO fails.

When we give the American people the "real thing'. We seem to win. We have a genuine Reagan conservative in Sarah.

I already suspect RNC has a plan to stack Jindal in with a couple of other socially conservative candidates to cross out Sarah's numbers and push someone like Romney on us in 4 years.

We must be looking for this and we must not let it happen.

Your first mistake was mixing CONSERVATIVES with republicans!

That’s like mixing oil with water!

truth with honesty,

integrity with core values!

Sorry, republicans are lower than whale crap in my opinion...

I have been in college for two years...

No wonder you're so enamored of two year degrees. Study more and you won't make foolish and untrue statements about Truman, or set me up for the coupe de grace by asking what kind of education Reagan had. Had you known that Reagan had a degree in economics, it might have explained a little about the economic successes of the 1980's.

Your liberal elitism is showing.

To paraphrase William Buckley, "I'd rather have the first 200 names in Bostom telephone book running the country than the Harvard professors."

As someone who earned an MBA (with national honors) from 1 of the 25% accredited business schools, Sarah Palin "gets it" far, far better than any ivy league grad especially obomber, bush, kerry and other elitists.

So, you think Sarah Palin is stupid, in other words ?

I wouldn't go so far as to call her stupid. I would however say that based upon what I've personally seen of her, that she doesn't strike me as gifted on any level.

Just that you lump G.W. in with Obama and Kerry tells me that you and I can't discuss this intelligently. If you truly think G.W. has anything in common with Obama or Kerry, this is just no reasoning with you.

Obviously your retreat without addressing my point is noted. Goodbye liberal elite!

What exactly is it you think Palin understands so well? Economics, international politics, constitutional law, or is it something else? Pretend I’m from Missouri and show me.

Melas, what is your educational background? All we know about you is what you have said in the past: you are a biker with a grey beard down your chest, who is a stay at home, homeschooling dad. You mention being 5'1" with a 6' tall wife (not sure why that is important but you mentioned it on your profile page) and you are an atheist.

She understands integrity, rule of law, business, how to run an organization. She understood the proper authority under Alaskan law for conducting a legitimate (rather than partisan) investigation of an ethics complaint -- which is why she opened the ethics investigation on herself to counter the partisan politically motivated investigation that did not have any legal authority. She understood the value of competition and negotiation for the international gas pipeline deal so that the citizens of Alaska weren't screwed by the insider deal for the oil companies that her predecessor and his cronies had set up. Other than that I'm pretty much just going by impressions based on what we were allowed to see of her during the campaign (just as it appears you are).

While you were criticizing her accomplishment of completing a four-year degree in five years and at five different schools, it occurs to me that many people follow a similar path to getting their degrees with changing majors, transferring between schools, or taking a lighter load during some semesters. By point of interest, what is your educational background? What degrees do you have and from what institutions?

In the spirit of disclosure, I graduated from Texas Christian University with a BBA in Finance (three years after I graduated from high school) and then 8 years later I completed a dual concentration MBA in Finance and International Business from Dallas Baptist University.

Melas, what is your educational background?

My education is rather pedestrian actually. Nothing worth crowing about. However, it's not relevant because I'm not asking you to trust me with your future. I wouldn't vote for me.

As for my profile, where did you see that? I took that down years ago after another FReeper made a racist remark about the photo of my granddaughter in my arms. It's just not worth it. I've decided that specifics on a forum as widely read and as controversial as FreeRepublic just isn't a good idea, especially if you have loved ones.

Not that it's anyone's business but my children are now either grown or almost grown, and I went back to work years ago.

Oh, and I’m not an atheist. Not sure where that came from either. I’ve been a Christan for a solid decade now. I can barely remember life before being saved.

You said you value education and want educated people around you. Obviously, you don't have the education that Sarah Palin has, yet you want to denigrate her and claim you surround yourself with eduated people. As far as your profile page - are you really that ignorant that you don't realize everything is saved on line? Your own profile page stated you were homeschooling your children as of 2 years ago. So since you now say your children are grown I assume you were just lying.

It's not relevent. To be perfectly honest, I promise that you would not be impressed. However, as I said previously, I'm not asking you to trust me with your future.

Now, if you're asking me about my education in order to discredit my opinion on Palin, I hope you've thought it through to the point that you'd have to then dispense with everyone with a similar or inferior education who supports Palin.

I don’t understand the “Support Sarah” idea, support her in what?!?!?!

She is the governor of Alaska. If you don’t live in Alaska, what are you supporting? Was Sarah the leader of a conservative movement that I slept through. What were her conservative accomplishments in Alaska- are abortions harder to come by, did taxes plummet, was a threat to the 2nd Amendment pushed back? Other then piss off the left by her mere place on the ticket, what activities are we supposed to support?

Some of us moms of large families are still homeschooling after we have grandchildren. :)

I have two grandchildren, and am still homeschooling two kids at home.

Wrong. I said you wouldn't be impressed. That doesn't mean that I'm uneducated, or didn't finish school. I meant by that, that if I were to divulge details, and I'm not, that it wouldn't be impressive. It's truly not. No Ivy League school, nothing that ends in laude etc.

And no, I was not a stay at home dad 2 years ago. I went back to work 3 years ago. The youngest two children are still being homeschooled however.

Now enough of this. For reasons that only you know, you've decided to make this personal. Do you think that you'll somehow scare me off, or make me say nice things about a political candidate you obviously admire? I guess if I'm patient you'll post my address and phone number before long.
