Report cites Frank's proposal to cut military 25%
President-elect Barack Obama raised questions during an election campaign stop in Colorado Springs when he asserted the U.S. needs a "civilian national security force" that would be as powerful, strong and well-funded as the Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force, but few of those questions have been answered.
But now one report is proposing a possible solution for part of the equation: From where would the money for such an organization come? Democrats in Congress now are floating the idea of cutting U.S. military spending by 25 percent, or $150 billion a year, and according to a report from blogger Jay Tea, that could be used for the new "security force."
The idea to cut the military, proposed by Rep. Barney Frank, already is being opposed by Republicans.
Frank, D-Mass., recently told a newspaper the Pentagon will have to start choosing the cuts from its weapons programs because he wants to slash more than $150 billion from the estimated $607 billion in defense spending already approved for fiscal year 2008.
Sen. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., argued America now is fighting terror worldwide, including active wars in Afghanistan and Iran, and that has stretched the capabilities of the military already.
He warned cutting funding in such a drastic way would be irresponsible.
"You know if we don't make the right decisions about the military nothing else will matter will it? Because if we don't have a free country then you know what do these other programs matter at all? That's the number one responsibility," he said.

Sorry to pop your bubble but, with the Mexican Border being thrown wide open and all those former illegals getting citizenship just by registering, (End of problem) all those new Democrats will flock to the polls for what ever handout the Democrats promise them.
Many of them already were given brand new houses (5 million to be exact) and with national health care, they will come like a tsunami from all over the World.

Obama saying what he has said about a civilian national securtiy force, bigger than our present military, more powerful and better funded that will be under his control is what scares the heck out of me. I fear for my family and I fear for my country.
And I am burned up when I think that Obama will be the commander in chief of America’s military. I guess Obama will make Barney Frank Secretary of Defense as Obama tries to emasculate the military and prepare us for surrender to our enemies.
Boys and girls, it’s been 3 days since the election. Right now I’m more concerned about America’s domestic enemies than I am it’s foreign enemies.

You have to remember every dollar in the federal budget is subject to the Democrat mantra of available funding which can be used to buy votes.
The dems spend every nickel with buying votes in mind. It matters little whether they help, destroy, or make neutral federal dollars spent. It's all about vote buying at any cost which yields power in the interim, and Socialism/Marxism in the end.
Nothing else is of interest to them.
A Civilian Military or goon squad headed up undoubtedly by the Chicago mob, OCF,(Obama Crime Family) would be the ultimate in vote buys and could be used to destroy conservatives as well doling out patronage in a huge way. So that's a slam dunk. You can expect that just as much as you can expect a huge attack on talk radio,fairness doctrine, no matter what it's called.
I say this with a heavy heart but the best way to trim the Military budget by 25% is to abolish the Marine Corps.
