Election smooth, but why?
The Washington Times ^ | November 5, 2008 | Deborah Hastings

Posted on 11/06/2008 3:41:50 PM PST by Shethink13

After all that fuss, the system worked. There was no meltdown, no flurry of lawsuits, no statewide demands for a presidential recount.

So does that mean America's voting machinery is finally fixed? And why did it work so well under record-setting turnout?

"Panic," said Doug Lewis, who heads Election Center, a nonprofit that works with voting officials across the country. "Everyone involved in conducting elections was just on pins and needles the entire year. Over-planning really helped."

There was only one reason the elections were smooth...the Dems won.

You nailed it!

It also went smooth cause the libs knew they had already padded all the battleground states with enough Acorn votes to more than put them over.

Unless I totally misread the process, disallowing every means of checking voters' validity, makes it possible to say things went "smoothly." If there was massive fraud, there is no "legal" way to identify it.

It's like eliminating bank robbery incidence by declaring bank robbery no longer a crime.

So, if next election a Republican gets in office, all the equipment will be flawed again.

Count on it.

Look on Fox and or CNN websites. In 2004 121 million voted. In 2008 120 million.

McCain got 5.5 million less than Bush in 2004. Methinks lots of former Bush voters stayed home and that’s why McCain lost.

I listen to Rush and was not fearful of what he tried to point out, the criminal actions of the Obama administration now and what is to come. Being aware or agreeing with someone’s opinion is not necessary to push fear and I don’t agree that Rush “peddles” anything, he lays it out and I either agree or disagree with his opinions.

Agreed. I had this same dread and fear when the election of 2000 got dragged into the courts. That situation prompted me to become a poll judge and I worked a few elections.....county and local and then the laws began changing and rapidly because the blacks & Homeless people started screaming about being disenfranchised and on and on. The laws were changed to allow cheating. We could no longer refuse a ballot to anyone simply because they were not on the books. No we had to give them a ‘provisional’ ballot and let them vote anyway. Well you can see how that can be abused. Then the motor voter law was put in place and finally, the laws have become so freaking slack that the hours of polling get extended arbitrarily. It is so rigged now. I don’t know what can be done. I finally ‘resigned’. Florida was just the excuse that the communists needed to start shredding the most reliable and accurate method. Paper Ballots/Punch Cards.
My heart has been racing since Tuesday because of the fear or rather the abject terror I feel.

Thanks for your personal experiences. I am sure that the cheating and fraud in this “election” were absolutely huge. And that makes not only the presidential election fraudulent but every other race, both national, state and local, as well.

And since Dems/leftists have absolutely no compunction whatsoever about cheating, lying, fraud and theft, where does that leave us?

Especially with all these Repubs leaping up to “support” and “congradulate” Hussein and promising to “work with” him and all that crap.

It’s sickening. It’s waving the white flag, paying for the bullet with which you’ll be executing, and offering your internal organs before you’re even dead.

There was only one reason the elections were smooth...the Dems won. If they had lost, there would have been chaos.

Exactly. Here in Alaska dems are starting to whisper "fraud" and "tampering" because both of their senatorial and house candidates are losing even though pre-election polling had them winning by hefty margins. I'm expecting the dem lawyers to descend after the state finishes counting the absentee ballots if the dems still lose.

I listen to Classic FM, which means tid-bits of NPR news. I heard them call Bush President Bush today for the first time ever. Just before saying “president-elect obama.”

Would say 'amazing'; but it isn't. It just is what it is. . .and just all rather pathetic.

Had not'.noticed what is happening at Fox News; but I am sure they are doing the same. Wenell Goler gets the prize for NEVER having made the slip-up of calling the President - 'President Bush'. (And sent him and Fox News my congratulations, every so often; as Goler continued to lead the pack You hear the direct. . .'MISTER Bush'. . .usually followed by the indirect. . .'the President'). . .

If it was simply the 'new way' or just 'European mode' or somesuch, they were adapting; I doubt, somehow. . .that it will continue. But I certainly hope it does. . .
