Sarah will survive. Her stature will only increase as time goes on. Those who are sniping now are the ones who will eventually be pushed to the side and out of the way.

The reality is, we need more people like Sarah and less of those who led us to this electoral disaster in the first place.

Not according to the battle ground poll. For the longest sort of a while, 60% have called themselves conservative. I’ve heard some say they switched to UHHbama to drive home a point to REAL conservatives, of which group McCain aint. Bush either.

“New Gingrich ought to be chairman of the DNC.”

Indeed. After his capitulation to Clinton that’s where he belongs.

Indeed. Everyone is blaming our own candidates without any evidence. It's ridiculous and has to stop. This is who we should be watching:

I was watching Fox and Friends this morning (my mistake I know) and they were talking about how the McCain crew said she was a diva and a hick and that she lost the election.

The one thing that stuck out in my mind is that at one point the McCain staff went to her hotel room and she came out in just a towel (or a bathrobe?) and they complained about that!??!?!
Who would complain about that???? and why couldn’t I get a job on the McCain staff???

You evidently did not see the exit polling data in relationship to political slant.

If it were not for Sarah, this Republican would have stayed home. McCain was a poor candidate. We got saddled with him because we allow independents to vote in our primaries.
Sarah is charismatic, intelligent, and hated by the media. Sounds a whole lot like Reagan.

The Anchorage Daily News does not support her as like the liberal part of Alaska, they want to burn her at the stake.

Its historically proven that mobs that act like this are bound by superstitions, these liberals cry for change but when someone actually can make a change they are afraid of them.

America and even in Alaska has retrogressed to the days of the Salem witch hunts, its a frenzy fueled by fears of being ignorant, unwilling to listen or learn.

I like Sarah a lot on a personal level. I don’t think she is a strong candidate though. Just being honest about it.

Ted Stevens, newly convicted felon, was just re-elected to US Senate from Alaska. Surely, once sentenced, he will be forced to step down. Can/will Sarah as Governor of Alaska appoint herself to replace him in the Senate??

It would be a great resume builder and give her much greater visibility on the national stage.

Toll,

Can you give the reasoning behind your take that she is not a strong candidate?

Yeah, just like Reagan. "Mr.Reagan, can you name a SCOTUS decision that you disagree with?"

Um, uh, er, uh.

Sounds just like Reagan. Maybe she will be effective. That remains to be seen. Here's hoping we find two or three other quality prospects to compete against her, so we can maybe get the best possible candidate. Smitten is no way to go through politics.

The only political thing I caught yesterday was a few minutes of Greta with Karl Rove.

Rove said that before Sarah the GOP was just barely keeping their volunteer positions filled across the country. As soon as she was chosen they had a flood of volunteers and ended with a surplus of volunteers.

The day after she was chosen the GOP received $40,000 in UNSOLICITED contributions.

I think I clicked on Greta when I did for a reason.

Conservatives are less than 50% but so is every other ideology. The bulk of Americans are too busy living their lives they feel. Conservatives win when they get their message out but the Republican Washington Elitists are not going to permit a straight forward person such as Sarah to gain a forum to bring her message to the American People that is why they are doing what they are doing.

My suggestion is that the Conservatives that are really for limited, NOT elitist, Government ask Jim Robinson if we can do our best to make this site the Sarah Palin News Network. Get her message of public service, anti-corruption and limited Government out. She and perhaps Jindal need to lead a new party that is all about Constitutional Principles of Government. The Washington Republican Elitists are not going to let you use the Republican Brand for Conservatism ever again. IMHO

If you look at the exit poll data only about 22% consider themselves liberals, and about 34% consider themselves conservatives.

So I guess conservatives are a minority, but it's a larger minority than liberals, and there were also a lot of people that were not strictly conservatives that found Palin appealing.

The far left hates Palin, and many RINOs in places of power in the Republican Party fear her almost as much as the liberals.

I don't remember seeing any polls on the popularity of Palin in the later days of the election, but I would not be surprised if she had a high approval rating, though if the question were worded to indicate an approval of her ability to act as President I suspect the numbers would be lower because of her relatively weak resume.
