Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)
Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent You Tube
i can assure you that Palin brought in more than votes - she brought in the volunteers and the cash. When you look at her 3 stops a day in the final 4 weeks of the campaign, you would've seen 5-25k in attendance every time. I saw McCain on a Monday in Kettering, OH (near Dayton) and he barely had 2k - and that was mostly school kids who got to cut class to see him (event was at a school). Then the following Wednesday, saw Palin in Chillicothe, OH (middle of nowhere) it was 35 degrees outside and I was one of the 5000 people standing outside to see her in the cold.
Volunteer numbers pre-Palin were abysmal. When Palin came along, the diehard volunteers showed up - homeschoolers, pro-lifers, and former military. See for as much as Republicans like to bash the social conservatives, they wouldn't have a party without them, as they are the fuel to the grassroots that elects Republicans all up and down the ballot.
Wonder if they recall BO saying we should have a NATO (or might have said UN) vote against Soviets, regarding invasion of Georgia?
We should keep track of all this stuff and throw it back at them!
BINGO ! Get your butt to the head of the class.
Well They wouldn’t like me at all, I come out of the shower necked.
But really, why all of the fuss? Now if she didn’t have a bathrobe that would be different. I don’t get it.
Thanks for the info.
Can’t you follow a simple conversation without flaming and foaming at the mouth? Can’t you even stay on topic for a minute before uttering your ridiculous assumptions?
For example, Exactly where or when have I *ever* on this forum supported Obama? I haven’t.
I never supported him, I didn’t vote for him, and I don’t want him.
But at the same time I can see what’s wrong with Republican candidates. I can even do that *without* being a traitor to the party. And I can do that without your permission.
In fact, I’m more loyal to the party than you are because I can see where it needs to correct its mistakes.
Apparently yesterday wasn’t a big enough lesson for you.
Support Palin in 2012 and you’ll get more of what you got yesterday.
“I care not what her IQ is. It is not a good measure of leadership.”
#####
Yes. You realize I was responding to some fool’s derogatory and sophomoric nonsense?
I agree with you and have posted along those lines since the attacks on Governor Palin’s intelligence began.
For Commander In Chief, to deal with the Putin’s of the world, I’d take Joe the Plumber any day over the entire graduating class of Harvard Law School.
BINGO!! Exactly what I thought too! Venus envy - so obvious.
Thanks for cutting straight to the point. Some of the crap I'm reading on this thread is unbelievable! SARAH PALIN IS THE ONLY REASON THAT MCCAIN GOT ANY VOTES! You RINOs know that is the truth! STFU!
Carl Cameron’s gleeful little diatribe against Sarah Palin has literally made me sick to my stomach. Can someone please refresh my memory. Right after McCain gave his speech last night, I was watching Fox and was shocked to hear a reporter saying that McCain staff told him at some point that they thought that McCain actually thought that Obama was the best candidate or words to that effect? I don’t remember what he said exactly, but it deeply disturbed me at the time. I couldn’t get it off my mind all day. I’m pretty sure it was Carl Cameron. Did anyone else hear this?
What a load of hogwash!! Nice try but no Cigar for ya.
PALIN 2012
Yup, what people don’t understand is that the base is what gets you the middle.
The middle are the people who don’t pay attention. So you need to work extra hard to reach them, that means phone calls, that means canvassing, that means making sure they actually vote on election day, that means TV and Radio ads.
All of those things require people who are passionate about you winning, so much so they give you their hard earned money, and take large chunks of time out of their life, to help you make it happen. That kind of passion comes from the base. The base doesn’t just vote for you, they do the dirty work to get your the moderates.
McCain didn’t have the base’s support, that’s why he had no money and a poor organization. Palin come in too late to save McCain. But she still saved him for the humiliation of going down in Mondalesque fashion.
Not buying into the BS.

The Republican party is constipated. You are going down the point.
buh bye,
FLUSH
THe venal backstabbing Romney dares to blame this on Sen.McCain.
This is from Mitt Romney and it persisted from his
ROmneyBOTs right through the election.
“Support Palin in 2012 and youll get more of what you got yesterday.”
That makes no sense. McCain ran for President and his numbers only went up when Palin came on board...then the financial crisis hit and that’s all she wrote, so to speak.
McCain was a moderate and liberal on many issues....(camp.finance lmao, illegal immigration, global warming etc)
Palin is a conservative and if she comes out against illegals she will win....the elites in the GOP, Dems, and media don’t want to talk about that problem, but it is growing and it is everywhere....
Palin can win in 2012...she and Romney are the frontrunners...Jindal and Pawlenty really have to make a name for themselves and build better organizations before being taken seriously.
If the GOP picks a moderate in 12 they will reelect Obama.
>>WOW! Just listened to Carl tell BOR the scoop like it was >>100% true and BOR didnt even question it.
Heh heh....they know that they are being watched carefully now by Big Brother.
>Said Palin cracked last week or some $hit and would be so >mean and nasty that it made the staff cry.
Winners typically do that to losers if they still think they can win. Make the staff cry? My dear God...
>Said she was sort of a shop aholic buying more clothes >then she needed.
At least she wasn’t a shop-a-holic when it came to building Greek temples and the like. I am not sexist, but if I were, I would have to say that this basically sums up every woman on the planet (again, if I were sexist).
>Came out of the shower with only a bathrobe.
And this would only be bad to those rather light in the loafers. Hmmm...do pictures exist? Not for me to look at or anything....I DEMAND PROOF!
>I dont know if this is true or not but this is just sick! >The election is over, move on..... Im sick now!
An empty suit just got elected and appointed a complete numb nut (smart one though) as Chief of Staff that worked for a previous administration after campaigning under a banner of change. Yet reporting that Palin came out of the shower with only a bathrobe is BREAKING NEWS.
Goodbye Fox!
Plus she probably saved some House and Senate seats!!!
What a load of crap.
Name names and make sure they never work in a Republican campaign again!
